oochie wally is a classic.

i'll say this much tho: it wasn't the best look for nas to have the weakest verse on a song by his weed carriers. and iirc, he didn't add his verse until it became a single.

his verse was just the co-sign to get airplay.

I like how nukkas act like Oochie Wally n You Owe Me werent the shyt when they dropped :win:...hell I wished he made a vid for the track he had with Aaliyah :to:

meh. that track with aaliyah had no chance of being a hit that summer unless they threw a bunch of money behind it.

"you owe me" was the chit, moreso because of ginuwine tho. anybody could've rapped on that song. nas didn't do much of anything on the track.

Oochie Wally was a banger along the lines of Pop That or any new posse club song. Beat used to bang back in the day. Perfect summer song. Young nas fans just had to be there. He was only 25/26 at the time.

I'm not denying it's a hot song :wtb:

But lyrically for Nas to get completely out shined on a track that is completely against everything he stands for and biting an entire biggie verse isn't a good look. Let's be reality, breh

Because it was never his song. It was a Braveheat song from the QB's Finest compilation album. He's not even on the original version. He hopped on the remix/video version to help the Braveheart crew and to get the QB project a few spins. Besides, that song still gets the party jumpin. Why be mad at that? And last time I checked, Nas was still a man and liked chicks. He can't be the serious, introverted, drop knowledge dude all the time.

oochie wally kept nas name alive actually. outside of that, the only bullet-points nas had during that time was the back-and-forth lines with Memphis bleek.

also, the qb finest tape flopped upon release. oochie wally put some numbers behind it.

qb finest was mad slept-on, btw.
