In that case, he was too generous to the press. He was showing his dikk, not being one.

Besides, Favre is a QB. Life ain't fair.
Agreed, but just showing that people using his off the field stuff will have to tip toe around that. But this is a main reason why the media should never have a say in who goes to the HoF.

I see a few people saying that Moss will get in 1st ballot. I seriously doubt that. If TO can't get 1st ballot, I just don't see Moss getting it either. Like I said earlier, only 5 WRs in the modern era have gone in on the 1st ballot (last being Rice). Hell if I were a betting man, I'd say Megatron (if he sticks to his retirement) would be the next WR to get in 1st ballot.
TO's definitely getting in and I would think it's next year. Does media perception play into TO's chances? Definitely. I think the bigger issue is that the HOF has something seriously against WRs. Some of the best to ever do it take years to get in.
Megatron getting in 1st ballot with Sterling Sharpe still on the outside would be a travesty.

You need the press whether you like them or not. You'd really hate the alternative.
Not saying we don't need the press; just don't need them to decide who goes into Canton. I mentioned Sterling Sharpe and I know some try to use longevity against him, but one of the key reasons always given was his attitude towards the media, although when he played, the only WR better was Jerry Rice, and even they were going back and forth, in regards to numbers.

He definitely should be but the history of HOF voters against WRs isn't looking that good in his favor. It may take Moss a year or two to get in. :manny:
TO gets in next year or waits a few years.Hines Ward is up next year.Moss in 2018.Reggie Wayne in 2020.Calvin (if he stays retired),Andre Johnson then probably Fitzgerald.I think eventually somebody gets in first ballot :manny:

Out of those guys, I can actually see Megatron getting 1st ballot even with the early retirement. I just got the feeling the voters will like him a lot when the time comes unlike others in the past.

I think it's more personality.Megatron might not get 1st ballot because some felt he didn't do enough,if he doesn't make it 1st ballot it won't be because they didn't like him.Andre Johnson or Fitzgerald will be 1st ballot.Wide receivers is :mjpls: to them

TO deserves to be first ballot but other great receivers have too and they have had to wait. Next year he should get in for sure though.
