I would say be committed to whatever your lane is whether you in school, give your all, you sweeping floors give 100%, read books too, educate yourself, you don't have to be in school to have knowledge, and find wisdom, me personally I found wisdom through studying the Bible and prayer, that's not for everyone, but commitment and wisdom will get you far in life!!!!

Take it or throw it away

damn thats real shyt
cats should learn to master they lanes so they can feel more comfortable expanding/networking

im learing this everyday

Never forget the importance of in-person. I remember a cat telling me this as a youngin. There was alot of people vying for an internship with a paper here in the city this summer. And i got it because i was the ONLY one that took the time to go down there IN PERSON and let them see me.

Don't rely on technology so much...get out there and MEET people. Some one once asked me why i'm always in the burbs or not really kicking it much in the inner city. And its because i been in the city my whole life...i've met alot of the city types...i want to meet and exchange ideas with people who's lives were NOTHING like mine...so we can all learn from each other.

yep the best thing my fam did for me was send my ass on a plane back in the days. i was all over the country growing up.
most def shaped my perspective now i look t it

exposing your kids will expand their mind asa well as help them decide whatype of person they wanna be,

This thread is dope but I just hate how "nikka" has to be involved for it to be official(like the last two threads if yours i remember). I may be thinking to deep about it though.

As far as emotion, I feel being awear/knowing/understanding how to control your emotions is better than not showing any. Smiling doesn't mean you arent upset and vice versa.

Be able to suppress actual emotions(dont forget though) but show the best emotion for the situation. "Get your weight up with your hate."

lol yea my fault man
i dont use that word to make it official its just imma young dude from detroit
i think alot of cats in here get caught up n how i type but really im all for success.
sometimes i get into it wit cats on here but when i have to explain myself they understand where m comin from.
the cats i dont respect on here is the ones that have no thoughts in their words whether we agreeing or disagreeing.

a real nikka to me speak from real life experiences no matter where they came from or what type of person they are.

if you a go getter i fukks wit you. i know every nikka aint gone be like me
but at the same time real recognize real.

This is true...you can't allow your emotions to run your life..how you react to situations is usually based off of how you feel about them..never let your outside situation effect your mental, its not easy but it will help you stop being bitter/angry about whatever isnt going well in your life..

It's all good, I thinks it just me. Cause I know when I was in my teens and early 20s "nikka" was a staple in dam near ever sentence I said.

But now I got a son to think about, so giving him game off the premise of it being real nikka shyt, kinda makes me pause.

But aside from that the thread is money.

@Cynical Thoughts

not tryna be funny but honestly alot of these lil young dudes wanna be motivated

its just sometimes they dont understand the message or how its being presented to them

speaking from a young black dude perspective

alot of old cats should be able to slip in they messages while havin a lil flavor to it

like when im sayin "fly" shyt it could mean fly as in expanding your mind, stuff thats gone have you thinkin in a whole nother perspective

when i mean "boss" shyt it could be used to describe how a go-getter moves
those who strive for success and make things happen

youll be suprised certain words can trigger shyt to make nikkas sit back n think

might not be the prettiest way of tyna get a point across
but trust you can slip all the knowledge in without coming off as preachy

alot of dudes feel like older cats just be preaching

1. As much as possible, try to be in the presence of those who are more intelligent than you. Soak in as much as you can.

2. Never make an important decision during a moment of high emotion. I can't tell you how many disasters I've averted at work by waiting an hour or two before I actually act. Once you're clear-minded and cooled down, you can see all the angles of a situation so much more clearly.

3. When it comes to other people, avoid placing too much expectations over their heads - you're just setting yourself up for disappointment.

4. (Outside of a job interview) Don't try to impress people, the results will be opposite of your intended effect.

5. Study the past and visualize the future, but always live in the moment.
