First you have to ask yourself, what motivates you? From my understanding of finance, it's all math, numbers, and spreadsheets.

Supply chain is a lot of that as well, you have different avenues for it procurement, transportation, warehousing, logistics; supply chain is essentially time sensitive on most cases; is product x available to make product y, which mode of transportation is the most cost effective way to get it to the customer, do we have enough space to store product y, do we have enough people to handle the demand for product y...

In supply chain you could travel a lot, be in a warehouse, on the road, or on a office...I spent most of my career in a warehouse...I recently took a step sideways out of management to get out of a warehouse and into an office.

I'd say supply chain is a more exciting field to be in, finance has more money potential. You can't go wrong with either.

Supply chain will continue to grow as an industry, simply because globalization is effecting everything. If you take the finance route, you have higher likelihood hood of upper management, vp, cfo or even CEO...most CEOs are finance or economics majors.

thats why i picked those two as majors i honestly think everything is going global now.

im not all the way interested in being an executive
im more concerned with making good money but at the same time i wanna be versatile and travel as well even maybe start up my own business
i gotta year to finish up my AA so i got time to decide

thanks for the knowledge though man its well appreciated

Also, this is not to say that supply doesn't make money...

To put it on perspective, my major in undergrad was communications, and I make very good money, not quite 6 figures...but with a master's you will make 6 easy...and with some time under your belt...5-10 years a decent company you can male 150+. My boss just turned 27, 2 years younger than me and he makes 6.

what do u do if u don't mind me asking? I'm a Communications major as well

Self Reliance. Can't stress this enough.

Pursuit of Knowledge. Your going to be learning your whole life, the second you think you know everything, you lost.

Being a self contained, self controlled individual is important too. Just having that mindset to overcome your situation or to find a solution, do what you NEED to do, not what you WANT to do.

And keeping track of yourself, keeping a journal, writing down expenses, etc. I'm starting this today. Hope I don't slack tho. Sloth is the deadliest of Sins....

Im a logistics and transportation analyst.

Not the easiest route to get to thru communications...call it dumb luck. kinda proof, that you just need a degree more than what degree and what school.

I got out of communications because it doesn't make any money...I bullshyted around in the field with no real direction for 4 years, making shyt money...it was fun though.

sounds just like me, I want to get out of communications for that same reason. I fukked up by not doing any internships. I'm working right now but its not something I want to do long term, been looking for the past couple months for some marketing type jobs but haven't got nothing yet.

If your really interested...you will have to get on on the ground floor, any and every company has a receiving department; apply for shipping and receiving clerk/coordinator position. You can get this with just some basic admin and ms office skills. Work that job for a year, and either seek a promotion or look for another job building on your newfound skillset.

This is what o did...

Don't get comfortable, as someone else in this thread said.

Stay away from energy vampires - you know them muhhfukkaz that walk into a room while you all having a good time and change the vibes?

You have certain nikkaz that'll drag you down each time you around them and cause risk to your freedom or well being; the only reason you hang around them is because you've been fam for a long time - cut them nigz off and choose wisely the company u keep.

You can get a lot of shyt by manipulating people but it doesn't compare to getting rewards from your own hard work. ( manipulation is easy)

All the elements now have always been here, you can gain and make of them what u choose

'Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business and to work with your hands, just as we told you, so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders and so that you will not be dependent on anybody.' – 1 Thessalonians 4:11-12

When on your ascension from poverty at no time show off pon poor people- or your demise will be a quick one

Be humble and stay cool always with everything but when it's time to strike, strike hard and quick and spare not a bloodclaat

For the 9 to fivers- Never gossip, join cliques or get involved in office politics- shut your azz up and watch

Think of yourself as a ship on the ocean, always know where u trying to go and set targets and objectives however small to reach there

If at any point u don't have any personal objectives or don't know where the fukk u wanna go you'll just float around - may end up somewhere good by floating but have more chance of being shark food

goons in the cut tryna talk you out yo necklace
When meeting someone, always put out the best vibes possible. You never know who you are talking to.

Never play fight (for the youngins). No need to expose what you know or even worse, DON'T know.

however you get it, save some of it. Legal or illegal, not saving will have you working/hustling longer then you should.

Don't know if it's been posted but I've learned to never try to make a hobby into a career. I feel it's best to be good at a hobby these days since you can market anything while having a stable career backing you is the best thing out there. You can easily steal markets with your hobby since you wouldn't need the money like most people and could offer quality with prices impossible to beat.
