This is a common misconception about other genres among hiphop fans. How hot is
Creed right now?
Anyway back to the thread.
They're not legends though. They're about the equivalent of Nelly or Ja among rock fans.
EVERY pre 2005 Hip Hop act other than Jay-Z, Kanye, Wu, Nas, LL, Pac, Big, Snoop, Cacinem, Run-DMC and Public Enemy are written off as "old and irrelevant"

especially here. The legends who didn't see commercial success are especially given shyt just for being old. In other genres veterans are revered and their classics cherished, but if old Hip Hop albums don't sound current, nikkas won't even listen to it

. I hate to say it, but for the most part only those annoying elitist white Hip Hop purists of the Rosenberg persuasion support the old legends and actually pay to see them in concert.
