As far as the foundation goes it is superior and just makes more sense. Of course you're not going to follow all the rules of boxing in a street fight. You definitely hit below the belt step on somebody's foot punch them in or unorthodox places and throw elbows. But it's better than trying to learn how to break somebody's arm with a karate chop.

Martial arts and self defensive classes should be taught in grade school..why wait until youre 26 to start??
