international doesn't matter or make it more profitably domestically. Soccer, baseball are just as big as basketball internationallly. Hockey is also big internationally. All four of them pale in comparison of interest to the NFL nationally.
Um, there so many things wrong with this statement. First off Basketball is number two behind soccer ( dominated by the NBA), so no, baseball nor hockey is on equal footing. Hockey has Canada, Russia and Northern European countries and that’s where it’s international reach is limited. Baseball has its reach in Canada, Japan and strong parts of India. The NBA is in every country from the European Union, to China, to Canada, to South America and Australia. Don’t compare these three. Soccer is the only one that surpasses basketball on a global level.
And yes, being international dominant is very profitable. China has the biggest world Economy ( surpassed the USA in 2014). The BRIC countries have over 5.2 trillion dollars in economic output.
Why do you think NBA players get 20-30 million dollar shoe deals, while OBJ has the highest NFL one at 5 million?
Why do you think the NBA major banking sponsor ( BBVA) is extending its agreement with the NBA? The Nba is a financial superstar internationally.
Hate to burst your American bubble, but the NBA is making its money.
Oh and more thing, the NBA has the youngest demographics while having the most diverse audience. They dominate internationally and their Future is way brighter.
