he signed him after section 80 though right??Anyone would sign him in 2011? And make him a star..
When Dre consigned him him in 2010 and begun mentoring him, I thought he was just some boring Joell Ortiz/Bishop Lamont aftermath signing. Now he's the illest and nearly biggest rapper in the game.
People forget that Kendrick was not even close to being a star until the months leading up to his album.
I don't know about all that, word is that he signed him after OD dropped.he signed him after section 80 though right??
Dre is a crazy moufukker.
He starters with Nwa, they died and he did his solo shyt and snoops shyt.
Signed Pac, that relationship died. Explored a few things came back with Eminem, Eminem died.
He signed 50, 50 about to die he signs Game. Game dies and he comes out with Kendrick.
For 25 fukking years.
Anyways Aftermath was a great period, the best thing Bout it being that the acts were in their peaks at different stages.. So at any given period he had rappers in their prime.
Musically breh, musically.every A&R is existence would kill to have Eminem under their umbrella...he aint dead.
ight well thats impressive if true. Cause no one was talking abut him until section 80I don't know about all that, word is that he signed him after OD dropped.
They started "working" after OD, Dre was co-signing him, they were in the studio and all that.. I doubt that Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine were giving free help to some "nobody". I just don't think the distribution deal and technicalities of Universal/Interscope etc had been reached yet.
the whole Aftermath run started in like '99 with Em's debut and i was in 8th grade...so basically these nikkaz ran my whole High School phase....def have great memories with all of that music.
i feel like the only person i know who copped/liked the Yayo album too.
