The world as we know it would be totally different.

Mind blowing if you stop and think about the implications of two turntables and a mic... Also offers an immense insight into music as a tool for social influence and order because the society its influence has shaped has normalized a heck of a lot that was already inherent in the medium.

It also shows you exactly how the System works when it takes an organic "Ground Up" movement and co-opts it into its "Top Down" structure and sucks the souls out of it and parades a shiny shell with nothing of depth that is almost entirely disconnected from its inception.

That said the very roots of hip hop itself are laced with esoterica which is a whole nother topic....

Man I can't even imagine....
shyt would be weird to say the least.
I don't even know who / where I would be without hip hop.
It's been one of the most positive influences in (I would say) most black people's lives.
The shyt just feels good, and a lot of the moments in my life either would not have happened or would have happened very differently without the influence of hip hop.

You wouldn’t know next to anything about how life was in the hood in other cities and states unless you had family there or visited often. Think about it... what would you know about Compton, CA or Port Arthur, Texas if you lived in Queens your whole life without Hip Hop?

The ignorance and lack of shame celebrated nowadays would be frowned upon if Hip Hop never existed.
