You have to change the system that created it in the first place. If you do a little research, all of that shyt was intentionally created by design. The gatekeepers knew what they were doing. NYC is a perfect example where you have Robert Moses denomic ass.

:manny: giving people well paying jobs wont kill crime. Sorry.

Some folks don't want to work.

Unless it's pushing one button once a day and getting paid 6 figures for it, while the rest of the time they pretend they're not at work.

Even then all one has to do is say "life is stressful. Ill make it easy" and poof, drugs and whores.

The key to culling crime is to say "if you get caught Ill give you a humiliating and painful public death" and following through 3 times.

Utopias are built on fear, because they allow human nature into the equation. :jawalrus:

Why do you think high crime is in high poverty areas?
I would say necessity but then that kind of invalidates my point. But to an extent, its a way to make some quick money with little effort. Drug dealing for example. One of the most high reward, low effort jobs there is. Now most people don't do it because of the high risk involved. But if you're making lets say $1000 a week selling drugs and just hanging out if you already have your clientele set up. Then you're not just gonna get up and go bust your ass at a factory 8 hours a day. I would say that high poverty areas aren't good places for profit since there should be more money to be made in higher income areas. But the high poverty areas are still sufficient enough for the criminals to get by in apparently. The allure of not only being a drug dealer, but living a lavish lifestyle, having a nice car, new shoes, and material things, are all influences to the youth. So some may see it as an easy way to make money without having to do any physical labor. Besides, nobody really would do their job if they weren't getting paid for it.

As far as how to fix it, that's hard to say. The average American has a survival instinct so if there's no other options, then some have to do what they can to make ends meet. It depends on the individual and those surrounding them.
