shiid, i'm just recovering from it. i was making $55k a year, go laid off, and had NOTHING. my wife was already laid off, so we were already struggling, so when i lost my job, we were both sitting on the couch like :sadbron: i applied for unemployment, but my previous job DENIED me :birdman: lost my house, 2 cars, and had to move my wife and 2 kids to my parents house. :sadcam: then i snagged another job working in oil and gas AGAIN. it was a contract job, but it was for a year and i would be making $19 an hour, so i took it. wifey got a job in social services. so we saved our money, and after 10 months of living off my parents, we were able to lease a house. got into the house and literally a month later, i lost my job AGAIN :krs: they didn't renew my contract and didn't give me a heads up. they told me on a Tuesday that my last day was Friday. fukkin' fakkits :smh: so i was on unemployment for 2 months which BARELY helped us squeak by, and i got a call for a job. when i went to the interview, i found out that it was another contract job :wtb: that payed what i was making in unemployment already. but i would have to drive (gas), park in paid parking lots, and eat lunch. :sadbron: after some consideration, i decided to take it anyway because i was tired of sitting on my ass doing nothing. the hospital hired me after 2 months of contracting for them, and paid me $72k a year with all the benefits. a nikka is :eat: GOOD right now. so it all worked out. but the down periods HURT a lot....:sadbron:

Nab bruh, I wish I worked for the city. They get all these bullshyt holidays off and perks. I'm over at a AT&T credit and collections center, it's good money but the job sucks. That's why I decided to go back to school, and try to do something different. I guess for now it will have to do... I've been there since 2001, they started off the kid at $11.25 an hour, for a 19 year old living at home with his parents, that was baller status to me lol. In 2012 at $30.00 an hour, with full medical, pension and 401k, the job has its pros and cons... I've thought about quitting, but can't now with a baby on the way.

by boy used to work at at&t sales call center. he HATED it, but they paid so good, he had to stay cuz everyone was :eat:. the bonuses and the benefits were just nuts. u been there a long ass time. u might retire out that joint.

Thsi is true, very true. When it's only you, you can kind of navigate that shyt through but when you got a wifey AND kids, that shyt would make the hardest nikka out here :to:

real ass talk. i cant tell you how many times i had to take a ride alone just so i can :sadbron::to:. shyt is HARD to watch your children sleep on someones floor and have to live out of a suitcase for damn near a year. shyt KILLED me inside.

but now, my kids are looking at this when they walk outside:

463204_2772894141737_1839548828_1653786_391513576_o.jpg

and they get birthday parties like this:

i spoil them every chance i get because not only did they endure all of what we as a family had to go through, but they maintained A/B grades and excellent conduct. and they NEVER complained when i couldn't buy them something or do something for them because of lack of money. so now they get the world.

I would like to retire with my sanity intact... Your boy works at the call center on Grace or Rock Island? From what I hear sales is the worst... The only reason people stay is cause of the pay, other than that the sales department has a high turn over ratio. I'd rather be working in the medical field, it's recession proof and you're more than likely have a guaranteed job for the next 30 years, since the population is getting older.

Would you just :to: all day or would you :smugdraper: and get your hustle on to get back to where you was at? The reason I make this thread because I see a lot of nikkas losing jobs and acting like there world has ended and then I see nikkas losing jobs, getting their hustle on, and eventually making it back to where they was or better. So which one is you? How would you respond to an L of that magnitude at the moment? Be honest nikkas.

I wish I had clout to put people on bruh... The only thing I can tell you is to check the site www.att.com/careers and create a profile, see what they're hiring for right now. I hear they always need sales people, but they hold them to these draconian standards, so tread carefully. If you were previously at AT&T and left in good standing, they'll probably re-hire you. After 5 years you'll get all of your original seniority back.
