Your kids are not robots, and getting one bad test when they excel in others will make them hate you. Trust me, You don't want to be that father that is when your kids excels growing up and doesn't want you to be a part of it. Your kids have academic preferences and desires. Its only human.

My neighbor was like that. His kids couldn't make a B. Got tore up if they did. They did well in school, graduated with honors and all, but resent their dad as adults.

sounds like my dad...A- was the lowest he could tolerate..B+ and he was and just tell us to turn that into A..B and he gave us a warning (i.e. screaming at us for a certain amount of time) along with taking away stuff..anything less than that was an automatic grounding and possible asswhoopin depending on the feedback he got from the teachers on why that was

my dad was super involved in my siblings and I education..but the bolded definitely happened due to too much focus on the education aspect and not enough on other aspects growing up
