A lot of artists have died, they weren't elevated to the top of their crafts. Biggie had a unique skillset that is almost irreplaceable so it would be easy for some to confuse him as the best after his untimely demise.
none of the rappers that died had that big hype as jay at the moment / besides pac/big
It would've been a better/much higher note for Jay if he left off at the Black Album. He was in a way still at his musical peak then. Right now, Jay is more known for his business moves (the Samsung thing with MCHG) and rubbing elbows in Hollywood. Rather than the actual music at this point.

They was considered better than him when they was alive. And Jay has had inconsistency issues since their death. If Jay died,he still wouldn't be top 3.
