For the child me...I loved the game and I played the shyt out of it. Best it over and over.

So, it has got to do with what meach says below:

In the original MR x wasn’t so persistent if I can remember correctly. He would show up, but you could beat the game without dealing with him too much. In the remake he’s unavoidable and cheap. He just keeps showing up no matter what you do.

I know I wouldn't have cared much for it so it wasn't something I retained.
So, the contrast of what I do remember and now, him being fukking unavoidable and forced...shyt ruined the nostalgia for me.
