How y’all get y’all locs to….loc?

Sponge brush and some Cantù on a regular basis

Wash it a couple times a week

Air dry

It should loc up on its own everyday if you don’t pick thru it

This I would imagine being some people struggle is they work in a corporate with

My issue was I couldn’t help picking my shyt

I’ve spent zero dollars on my locs and all I did was start with a sponge and after three months I didn’t have to do nothing but wash it.

And my shyt gets compliments to the extent that my main reason for keeping it at this point is how good it looks.

Why not just box braids + time and just let it happen from there?
That's how everyone I know did it.

You need time and patience. I shouldn't have to say this, but have somebody twist it for you. The first few months are a real test. Once they start budding, you'll know you're getting close but it's also the most WTF era shyt genuinely made me think of trying to raise teenagers. They're unruly as hell, some doing whatever tf they want. It's worth it though.

Yea it will, I started my locs using this method and when i finally got some length () I got them twisted up. I like this way too because each loc end up thicker and stronger vs starter locs from what I've seen

Just get them started by a loctician and LEAVE THEM ALONE FOR A COUPLE MONTHS. Wash them occasionally, but wear a silk cap when sleeping.

Twist as necessary for regular maintenance, but the less you fukk with them in the beginning, the faster they lock.

Chick that does mine charges like $60 and I see her every other month. It was $80 to start them.​

Honestly I recommend seeing a loctician unless you’re going for the natty look

It took my hair 3 -6 months to fully loc all the way around with maintenance every two weeks with wash to keep them separate til they formed

Man, go to a beauty salon. If you're in a predominantly Black area, there's probably 2-3 of them within walking distance of your barber. The spot I go to is in the back half of a barber shop run by Haitians.​
