North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
you understand what gentrification does right? and NJ's segregation/NIMBYism? 30-40 yrs from now we're going to asking how to fix South Orange, Nutley, and Union etc.....pushing the poor out and bringing in rich folk may make the city better but poor people don't just disappear. if potentially more Newarkers were educated/employed you will see improvement from within, that benefits the WHOLE region

That's a big if and basically a pipe dream.

only time will tell whats gonna happen to Newark but I think that having Ras Baraka as mayor is a step in the right direction....ya'll actually have somebody in office that has the best interest of people at heart this time instead of someone thats just out for self...i always say for a mayor to make any real change in the community you need to have the respect of the people first and Ras Baraka, through his community activism, has gained that....with that being said, it seems like they're focusing a lot on building new developments right now but I really think that, before the summer officially starts, they need to focus on the gang issue...throwing police at the problem might have worked for east orange but this is Newark we talkin about...the city is way bigger and the solution is gonna be way more complex than that...for right now we just gotta let dude cook...I got faith in Ras Baraka though
