Asking for permission to reduce my pay next period to make up for it.

Say yes man :francis: I work IT and believe me that email conversation and that pay transaction is logged and i'm sure she not the only person that know about the error.

It's not your money and they're asking you out of courtesy. They will get it back with or without your help. If I were you I would tell them to take it from the next check and move on.

I worked at a bank and mistakes happened all the time. We would call up the customer explaining the error and informed them what can be done to fix it. They can either deposit the money back into the account and have us take it out or leave the account the way it is and have us take it out. Either way we're getting the money back, but you may have overdraft fees billed on for not complying.

Don't fukk with a businesses money. If you don't work with them on this they're not going to work with you. Business relationships are built on trust and credibility. If you're not giving them what they want how they want it they'll wait until they have leverage, and fukk you over. They'll do it because you're not a team player and you're not flexible.

HR is your only friend in a corporation. You want them to like you because them liking you is worth a lot more than one check with double pay. HR can save you from getting fired. HR has saved my ass hella times. Just because you're right doesn't mean it'll save your ass. Sometimes HR has to remind your employers there are laws that protect you from discrimination and mistreatment of any kind. HR will also tell you when they're coming for you and how to move. HR is the fukking plug, don't run out on the plug.
