This is true but google is a private company they can hire who they way. Now if they were federal or if the job was for a federal contract then there would be a case

He's not good enough to go to your 4 year university, but he's good enough to work at Google straight out of HS

He had a 1590 SAT and got rejected from top schools, not San Jose State.

Plus...I'm guessing it's a tech gig.

In those jobs, the degree helps with getting to higher levels within the company but all they care about are skills...coding, problem solving etc. He probably had a body of work to show and they likely tested him on different scenarios/situations.

He wouldn't be able to get a job as their general counsel, in finance, accounting etc.
