The late 2010’s the same one I watched UNC go to back to back championship games? Duke dominated because they went to the elite 8 twice? What final four are you referencing? Couldn’t be the same one where you lost to UNC the year after duke missed the tournament?

Just two seasons ago they were a 1 seed who would’ve made the final 4 if RJ Davis doesn’t have the worst shooting game of his career. Acting like the program needs to be built from the ground up is laughable. And even if that were the case, this is the perfect era to get it done in 1-2 years with how quickly an entire roster can be turned over

This is what scares me about this search, and how we might wind up like Kentucky did a couple years ago. Yeah, we are considered a "blue blood", but that doesn't hold much sway these days. I could easily see scenarios where cats like Lloyd and May turn to their prospective schools like "Carolina made me this offer... what ya'll tryna do for ya man " Don't get me wrong, I would not be mad at either one, I just have this gut feeling that we might be in for a rude awakening. Like Theo said on his podcast, brand don't matter anymore these days.

I'll even let you throw Florida and Louisville in there too, even though those programs have had sustained success for decades. So that's 4 non-blue blood programs in the last 20 years. This hasn't really changed in the NIL era either. A blue blood practically wins the natty every year, yet blue blood branding doesnt hold weight?

Last true blue blood to win the title was KU. Uconn didnt become a true blue blood, if you want to call them that, until the 2010s really. With NIL though players want to go to who is going to pay them the most. Their are exceptions of course.

Who cares. You can choose to not refer to them as a blue blood. Semantics doesnt take away from the fact that they're an established powerhouse- and the propaganda is that it doesnt matter if you're at one of these programs when in fact it does.
