Saw this on the WWE channel, thought people made a bigger deal of him getting no ovation than it was. I mean no one's really gonna be settled in before tip off for a regular season game vs Brooklyn in November and psyched up anyway. Wouldnt have mattered who you brought out there

That said, I do kind of hate how they are just dragging Hogan like an infomercial hologram for everything. The Scooby Doo announcement yesterday was also kind of sad. You know something aint right when he comes out for all these promos and you go "You know...I think his TNA on screen persona was better :patrice:":mjcry:

I dont mind if they used him in a Teddy Long/Booker T/Vickie Guerrero type GM on TV role who appears every couple of weeks or so (on screen of course, not actual booking decisions) because I do think there's some value to him being on tv and getting casual wrestling fans and mainstream fans to tune in to see him moving a storyline in some ways. But no one is gonna care if hes gonna cut the same promo for the most insignificant shyt

Lets keep it real this is Vince semi-burying him for everytime he tried to compete with him. Coke boy not even realizing the value of branding and preserving your former stars legacy.
It was because he was interacting with the wrestlers and was put into useful storylines. TNA utilized the legends way better than WWE does.

Yeah thats what I was thinking . I don't need him to get Brooke or all his old boys involved or nothing, but as I've been catching up on the wrestling I've missed the last few years, I saw some of his promos and segments in TNA with the Immortal/Fortune shyt and thought :ehh: "This is not THAT bad", I mean I get it feels very much like WCW in its final years aesthetically and there was some things they shouldn't have done (letting Jay lethal go, Joker Sting, Hogan vs Sting :sadcam:) but overall he feels much more natural just playing himself as a persona in charge.

I wouldn't mind if he became the head of a counter faction against the authority, like they make up some storyline about how he acquires a majority of shares. Now I know some will say that's been done before but to that I say "Well shyt like the Authority has been done before too "

He's played as fukk, he gets crickets when he makes his pathetic RAW promos

Unlike HBGOAT or Austin, he was never considered cool

of course he was... it was just a long, long time ago.

But you know what? Hogan's stale ass novelty act is still probably more money than most of the people on the roster.

But god man they fukkin neutered him.

Nah its over...

That's like saying theres value in having Run DMC on a feature for your album. Theyre legends but the jig is up.

Two completely different audiences.
There's probably more people who used to watch wrestling than do and the nostalgia or where are they now factor is prevelant. That's why they try to give part time contracts to legends who can still go and roll out guys who cant to at least make appearances. No one saying hes gotta be the main reason to tune in but I don't think anyone is taking a major issue if you roll him out as an on screen persona and use his past for a storyline to put over a current wrestler.

Man the audiences arent as different. different cultures, same audience... it all boils down to marketing.

Most of the people who watch wrestling arent net geeks like us, wrestling is basically the equivalent to Disney on Ice at this point. It's just a traveling play. These fans now, for the most part don't have the same attachment to the smark shyt that we are into. We're the equivalent of underground rap heads, complaining about the good old days. It's the exact same thing because we r part of the audience.

The Rock is like the Jay Z of wrestling, nikkas will always check him out even if what he's doing aint as relevant or good as before. Just based off of nostalgia. But he can't drive the game like he did during his prime. He does a surprise performance its like "ooohhhh" but you aint gonna bump his new shyt like THAT...

Hogan is a Run DMC, they r legends, but NOBODY cares... he can't put anyone over. Hogan has burned his flame completely out. His time for putting people over was 10 years ago. That was his novelty era. RIGHT NOW, the teen audience, knows Hogan, like we knew Bob Backlund... actually... his 2nd WWE run was his Backlund "Chicken Wing" era. Now he's just like "awww look at Grandpa" thing.

The part timer's thing is overblown. Jericho, Brock, Rock, Batista... 4 part timers, am i right? Thats not really shyt... and with the exception of Brock, they can't put anyone over. Because this new generation doesnt know them. It's like when Superfly Snuka used to job every now and then. I had zero investment. He didnt make me like any other performer any more or less. I just wanted to see Razor Ramon and shyt. fukk out the ring grandpa, where's Daniel Bryan.

It's just time for new nikkas. Get that dusty fukk a house, let him work at his racist ass restaurant and stay the fukk off my tv. thats simple...
