Mitch isn't evil cause he been there forever, he's evil because no way could he have clawed his way to the top of the Republican Senate if he wasn't. Same for Schumer but its more tied to his connection to big donors. If Kentucky wanted McConnell out he would be out. Real talk if this Boycott Israel story gets legs there is a legit chance Schumer will be out. There is a mechanism to remove senators and congressmen.

AOC is a great example of that, she took out a guy who had lost touch with his constituents but had gathered a lot of power in DC. In the end he was replaced by AOC who does represent what her constituents want.

The real term limit discussion needs to be had on the Supreme Court. That's the part of the system that is completely broke and unrepresentative of voters desires.
i agree, limit em all. but the supreme court doesnt decide shyt :childplease: they're nowhere near as important as congress and senate

still, term limits apply to dems and repubs the same. the fact that you're turning this into a :mjcry: weakness for the dems is :mjlol: says a lot about the state of the party

The Supreme Court doesn't decide shyt:dwillhuh:.

Man that's a wild opinion. I don't want to change topics but...... I literally think that is the opposite of what the supreme court does.

Also term limits are not a weakness for the Dems, its an opportunity for the Republicans to pull a hard reset. The two aren't mutually exclusive, but the Republicans are starting to lay the seeds for their return on the long game front. Its insane how accepting of their political fate they are..... but then again a catch 22 is a catch 22. They are damned if they do and damned if they don't.

im not seeing why a rule that would literally apply equally to both dems and republicans is being touted as something that dems need to fear. it's no wonder this party loses :dead:

They don't need to fear it, but why give the Republicans an in.:yeshrug: This blue wave could have the Republicans on the rope for decades in Congress.

i dont want politicians in government for 20 and 30 years, no matter what party they're in

when your term is coming to a close, endorse a successor and your voters will vote for that person. i'm not seeing an issue

Its a good start but really doesn't fix the heart of the issue. The crooked politicians will just become crooked lobyist and the good lifelong politicians will be replaced with crooked ones lol. If they not gonna fix the lobying problem i don't give a fukk really.

We need this , 2 terms for the senate & 4 terms for the house . Instead of the congress voting on this it should be voted by the american people on the 2020 ballot for president & an age limit of 67 for cobgress

  • Set 24 year term limits for both House and Senate.
  • Set age limit, whatever term a member turns 70 is their last term.
  • Institute public financing for all candidates, federal and local.
Now someone tell me why this won't work.

Age discrimination on the they turn 70 quit rule. The other two would be great. I would also say create a public database where all lobbyist have to report their interactions with politicians. They got this in NYC and it’s actually good to know who is buying who
