It's sad because elephants are becoming endangered as it is due to poaching and now this.

Only explanation that would show effect for a herd like that.

They will do a blood gas check on the animals hopefully, because if people have a well close by, it could be affected.

I thought this but wouldn't other animals also be affected? Especially smaller animals; I would imagine they would be dying enmasse as well as the elephants.
