You're supposed to double check everything ESPECIALLY if it involves FAMILY!!

Have you ever seen what happens to family when an inheritance is up for grabs or a will is disputed?

That’s yo fault, my nikka :francis:

It don’t matter WHO it is, read your paperwork.
Business 101

If you watch the interview he takes 100% accountability for not reading the contract and says he learned from it and won’t make the same mistake again. He said he learned not to trust ANYONE and to make sure he reads every word and has Lawyers

Was Coles contract good though? Cole I understand, dude had nothing at all. Nobody had even heard his name. You’re standing out in the cold trying to pass your cd to Jay and friends, then outta nowhere Jay tells you he’s making you his new franchise player on the rap side, whereas Rihanna is on the RnB side. Of course dudes are signing that quick as fukk.

Cole is a college graduate though and a hiphop nerd, he should’ve been smarter.

edit, it was Wes who snakes him??:francis:
This post don't make sense, Conway had nothing. They was nothing when those deals were signed.

Just from reading between the lines it doesn’t seem like Conway understood that he was an ARTIST on Griselda and not a partner. He mentions several times how he built Griselda was there in the mud getting their rep up. Also he mentions that being signed to three labels didn’t go in his favor (Interscope, Shady, Griselda) and that he mostly signed to Shady because he A). Wanted to seek mentorship from Eminem and B). He thought that Em and the label could do for him what they did for 50 Cent as far as taking a super street MC and marketing him to the mainstream.

He also mentions having Big records with Big artists that he can’t release to clearances. Seems to me like he was alluding more to Shady and Interscope not being such a good label to get a “push” from as he expected. Said that he only spoke to Em a few times and it was all business.

I get the feeling that he thought signing to a Major would be an opportunity for more exposure and working easily with bigger artists but he basically could have stayed Independent and gotten the same results

He also mentioned that a deal with Roc Nation was on the table at the same time the Shady Records deal was and they went with Em

That’s bs. He’s the actual brand, the one who put in the legwork and put them all on and showed it was possible.

mans created a avenue for his entire city to be respected.

even how they brand sets up they album covers, album titles, song titles all influenced by him.

DOESNT CHANGE THE FACT
THAT THE nikka IS GARBAGE.

That's what attorneys are for. You wanna be a professional, act like one. You don't see many pro athletes or actors signing life altering contracts without agents and attorneys on their side, why would you treat the music business any different?

Most music contracts are fukked anyway unless you established and got leverage but at least understand what you signing

Even they can be shady too
