I go down there every few years ( I have family there).
Its not bad. A lot of superstition is embedded (as with most Southern Black people), and there is still a solid belief in Louisiana Hoodoo and Voudoo, depending on how far out you are.
Its like any other Black city, there's probably a serial killer or too running around down there, still a lot of damage from the Hurricane that hasn't been repaired, still a lot of poverty.
Culture is powerful .

Again I'll say it. When you on burbon you surrounded by nothin but c00n as tourist like yourself. People from New Orleans is not out there like that what so ever.

Especially black people, it's to much to do in the city to be on burbon :dead:

Imagine a black person in them cac ass clubs on the burbon :hhh:

How old are u? My nikka out here talking bout blues and jazz :lolbron:

Man go to a black people club or go to a 2nd line or dj.

And I'm pretty sure u eat some crawfish from around that area :dead: I coulda gave u a couple locations to hit up to enjoy some city food that black people eat. Including crawfish, gumbo, hoy sausage(I'm sure u never had this before) and many others.

:scust:i never once taste a crawfish outside of New Orleans that was good. Y'all shyt legit taste like water wit no flavor.

:pachaha: Y'all don't put the boil in while the crawfish is boiling, y'all put the shyt on afterwards. shyt is disgusting to tell the truth.

:snoop: Mayo and kecctup on crawfish, crawfish should never need any sauces bro

Who eats eggs wit crawfish? But yea we are pretty much the creators of this seafood shyt. Crabs, crawfish, shrimp, turkey necks, corn patotos

What are some of the good spots to kick it at?

I'm sorry you hung around white people your whole visit.

yo mama restaurant is trash.

You just admitted you stuck in the tourist area so yes you were hella bored

Those negros in the quarters are hustling for their coins...I'll admit some are bums and lower themselves for whitey.

Again you probably paid 8.99 a pound for crawfish at a white restaurant and the crawfish was trash.

Sounds like you needed flavor.
Hood flavor.
Super Sunday, secondline, djs flavor.

Please don't come back till you decide to hang around black people.
He scared to be anywhere whites don't cosign

I will say my pops is from New Orleans. All his fam out there. The only two males cousins on that side I had were both murdered one year apart. Me and my bro who did get out will have to carry on the family name:mjcry:

Weren't gangstas either.

One cuz got a call, a friend told him come outside. He walks outside and gets lit up with 100 rounds by a passing car on his porch.

Other cousin went to bourbon street, at a club. Random guy with a hunting knife stabbed him in the back of his head and killed him. They didn't know each other... the guy simply said he looked like someone else because he had dreads.

Dallas, Texas but living in Houston, Texas
I've been to New Orleans once for the Essence Festival before Katrina. We ventured into the some of the wards(I forgot which one but it was where a lot of the No Limit guys were from). They're really bout that life there but the people are still cool. Good food and good people.

A lot of New Orleans folks are here in Houston that came during Katrina and they are good people.
