If we start at counting recorded music only, Rock N Roll was around from 50s til about 2000 where it took a plunge and started losing relevancy yearly

gene and kiss was some bandwagon hoppin' muthafukkas back in the day, they hopped on the disco train when they saw it was money there
point is, gene is bout his bread and always has been and he's no different than the majority of the current batch of rappers of today. that muthafukka has his band's brand and his name on any and everythin' you can think of. gene and those guys are the definition of what some rap fans back in the day would perceive of a rap "sell out" because they their music was just some slick empty bullshyt
