"I'm looking forward to music coming back to lyrics and melody, instead of just talking."
yeah, like Strutter :stopitslime: KISS as a whole was as basic as they come, he should be the last one to talk down on other bands and genres for their creativity or talent

I don't even listen to rock like that nowadays but there's plenty of bands I've come across that have impressed me more so than the few bands he mentioned from back in the day. If I can give bands from Paramore to Killswitch Engage a chance and end up enjoying the music, then this old fukk ain't really listening himself and is just talking shyt for the attention

Makes me sick they had Pac bring them out at the Grammy's one year. Gene better hope Sophie don't start hanging around rappers someday.

Rap in its form today? Not just counting people rhyming and poetry? As in the popular music pressed in records etc etc?

Nah man

If we start at counting recorded music only, Rock N Roll was around from 50s til about 2000 where it took a plunge and started losing relevancy yearly

Hip Hop as we know it been around since the late 70s, making it just shy of 40 years old.
Not to mention R&B, Blues and Jazz eclipse both in age with both Jazz and Blues over a hundred years old.

Okay by that logic then, how is something like Young Thug and Future comparable to Sugarhill Gang?

Calling me moron getting all in your feelings :scusthov::umad:

Move those goalposts though:youngsabo:
One thing we can say is 808's are still an immensely popular instrument in Hip-Hip music . The "808" in Hip Hop is
comparable to the "Guitar" in Rock music.

It's used in different ways but its still a massive part of contemporary Hip-Hop music.

Even though I loathe Young thug and don't find him to be particular amazing at anything. His music (Rapping or Production...) have direct antecedents in Hip-Hop music. He isn't exactly some anomaly.
