Am I getting this right? So the bottom line is the balls were inflated to right on the line 12.5 with whatever gauge was used. So the Pats could have inflated the balls to 12.5 on a gauge but another gauge might register it at 12.1...or 12.6 or whatever.
The cold weather means they are going to drop for certain by some amount, with variance based on how long the balls were in the cold, wetness etc. And on top of that, there is a variance between GAUGES used. And there is no rule stating you have to continually monitor the air pressure. And the NFL had no process whatsoever in place to deal with any of this at all. And the Colts got totally worked in that game and would have been worked if they were playing with a nerf ball.
I don't even like the Patriots or Brady, but this looks like essentially having a supreme court case over a dude going 50.5 mph in a 50 mph zone.
Of course, some of this is brought on by themselves and the videotaping history. If this were the Jaguars the refs would have allowed it out of pity.
