I can't objectively reccomend getting a PS4 over an XB1 right now

Having both consoles fixes the problem... one may collect dust more than the other but... :yeshrug:

this.

My ps4 is collecting dust but will put my x1 on the shelf come March when Uncharted and MLB the show 16 drops. Then it's back to :camby:

In all reality, with how cheap these systems are, you should just get both. My X1 gets more play, due to it's media capabilities, but if I gotta choose a multiplat game that is only on the ps4 or X1, I'm choosing the PS4 version for the most part. I can tell the difference between 720p, 900p, and 1080p. I prefer 1080p. :manny:

PC gets the most play though with multiplats, when available.

Maybe I'm in the minority that thinks owning both consoles isn't necessary at all unless you REALLY feel you're missing out on the exclusives front. Having shifted to primarily PC gaming over the last couple years, I feel like owning both consoles isn't necessary at all, especially when both consoles share a majority of their AAA library. Been considering selling my X1 AND PS4 solely off the strength that SFV is dropping on PC anyways, and no Sony exclusives really interest me much past that besides Persona 5 and I barely turn on my x1 as it is. Maybe having just 1 will make me enjoy console side of things but it just feels like 1 big waste having both.

There are tangible differences though depending on what games you play.

For instance if you play 2k your gonna be better off getting it on PS4 because you'll get patches for the game faster. 2k seems to favor PS4 this gen when it was opposite last gen

In my experience installs take much longer on the XB1 than they do on the PS4

Yeah which seems like a decent reason to recommend ps4 over xb1. Installs and mostly digital downloads take FOREVER on the XB1.

Legit question: Were people questioning PS2 users back in the day when the Xbox and Gamecube were the clearly more powerful systems?
Moot point.

Gamecube had barely any multiplatform games and the PS2 was overwhelmingly dominating the Xbox to the point that it would be silly to buy Xbox multiplats when most likely your friends and such would be playing on PS2(and back then couch MP was more prevalent.)

It's not exactly the same.
