I own both and my PS4 has been collecting dust. All my friends are on XBL

Moot point.
Gamecube had barely any multiplatform games and the PS2 was overwhelmingly dominating the Xbox to the point that it would be silly to buy Xbox multiplats when most likely your friends and such would be playing on PS2(and back then couch MP was more prevalent.)
It's not exactly the same.
Xbox has got a few exclusives coming up too.Ps4 had more and better exclusives. In a couple years exclusives won't even be close. And multi platform games run better on it. Plus the success its having makes the future look brighter. Only reason to buy an xbone instead is if your friends are on it
Things can always change with time, that's why I said "right now" in the thread title. Realistically there isn't one console exclusive strong enough to sell consoles right now, therefore, at this point in time you should just go with the one most of your friends have or the cheapest ones. Its funny cause its always the PStans that get furious about this kind of thing. I'm bigging up Sony, calling the PS4 my favorite console, but the fact that I would dare say that the XB1 is a solid choice for gamers as well burns them.Ps4 had more and better exclusives. In a couple years exclusives won't even be close. And multi platform games run better on it. Plus the success its having makes the future look brighter. Only reason to buy an xbone instead is if your friends are on it
Now ja rules thoughts and my life is complete![]()
I never understood this concept, or the whole "which system is more powerful" debate, which is the same argument that I see in almost EVERY thread in the Arcadium. People put way too much time into this. It's ok to be loyal to your brand...but the 900 vs 1080p argument is kinda weak and played out to me.
Legit question: Were people questioning PS2 users back in the day when the Xbox and Gamecube were the clearly more powerful systems?
This is arguably the first time Sony has had the "most powerful" console and I swear people going bananas over it lol
Two PS4 Bundles Just $299.99 Each Starting December 6thIn response to the constant console wars (which I completely understand will continue no matter what because brand loyalty will always exist) I thought about it for a minute and have come to the conclusion that I wouldn't be able to recommend getting a PS4 over an XB1 to anyone looking at buying a next gen system today.
Granted, Sony is killing it, and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future, but I'm one to believe that this is due largely to the fact of how terribly MS handled the launch of the XB1. They were shoving Kinect down everyone's throat and were backpedaling like mad when gamers started an uproar about the always online plans they had for the console. To make matters worse, they came out the gate $100 higher than their direct competition which to the PS4's credit, it came out with a very easy to understand console, under a brand that people worldwide respect highly in the video game market.
Fast forward to today, and the XB1 can be purchased everywhere with several games (Great games by the way) bundled with it often times for less than you would pay for a PS4. When you think of the best games of this gen, you will begin to mention multi-platform games. (Unless you're one of those guys that purposely only lists console exclusives for the sake of arguing. (Yeah, yeah, we know you had fun with Bloodborne, but we had much more fun with Metal Gear Solid V and Fallout 4 but those games get dismissed all the time because they're available on that other console you hate)
So yes, while MS royally screwed up the launch, TODAY, if you were to buy an XB1 over a PS4, you would not really be missing out on anything special. Sure, Bloodborne and Until Dawn are cool, but they definitely aren't console sellers. Also, the XB1 has a hard time hitting 1080p for whatever reason, and we all get a laugh out of that, but can the vast majority of gamers really pick out the difference between 900p and 1080p? Even if they could, is it really impacting the overall experience?
So if someone asks me today, "Which console should I get?"
First, the one the majority of your friends have if you plan on playing with them. Second, which ever one has the best deal at the time, because regardless of which console you get, at the end of the day, you'll be playing the same games as everyone else with more or less the same experience. I prefer PS4 because I'm loyal to the Sony brand because I grew up in the glory days of the PS1 and PS2, but I could definitely see why people would buy an XB1.

this.
My ps4 is collecting dust but will put my x1 on the shelf come March when Uncharted and MLB the show 16 drops. Then it's back to![]()
Exactly, in this case I would say "Go with the PS4". If people actually read what I was saying, I'm not saying the XB1 is better than the PS4 (or vice-versa), Im saying that TODAY, if you look at the exclusives and you look at what games the majority of people are playing, its all multiplats, and in that case you might as well go for the console that you can find for cheaper unless you have more friends that play on the other console. There haven't been any exclusives strong enough to buy a console for YET. IMO the big one for PS4 will be Uncharted 4, and so far the big one for XB1 is Halo 5 and very likely Gears of War 4. (Not meant to be an all inclusive list - before anyone says "What about [This Game])Two PS4 Bundles Just $299.99 Each Starting December 6th
At the $299 the PS4 is the better buy. You can get more stuff with an Xbox One but the PS4 is the better game device right now.
My favorite games this Gen have been:Not gonna front, be looking kindaat owning both a ps4 and xb1. Hopefully Recore, Quantam Break, and Scalebound justify it

Come join me and play TitanfallYup, I held out on an Xbox One and I'm not really missing anything. I would have gotten Halo 5, but I'm not going to die not being able to play 1 game.
