I don't really have an opinion on Keef either way....but why is this always used as an excuse to defend a rapper?

It doesn't work for anything else. If you're watching the Super Bowl, and a guy fumbles a pass, or throws an interception, costing the game....his family, background, or how much he's struggled in life never come into play. You're gonna yell "get this guy the fukk outta here".

Rap though, it's "chill, he gotta feed his family". If people were as sympathetic towards everyone else as they are of rapper's families the world would be a much better place.

Fred.

:obama:

Can't counter that. Chief Keef is just a shytty byproduct of Chicago. His music is azz his image is as destructive as any old school gangsta rapper and he is promoted by Jimmy Iovine the father of promoting ignorance.

I was around some younger cats the other night and they were playing all "trap". This cat was one of em and I understood it. The bass and the beats and the rhythm is what they checking for. It has nothing to do with the lyrics at all.

It's like going to a club and seeing a bunch of white girls dancing. Them bythces aint thinking about the culture, they just want something mindless to move to. Same thing with these kids. The beats is 98% of it. That's it. Say something really simple in a repetitive fashion and give them a hard beat with thunderous bass and it's a hit.

This excuse has always been bullshyt. If it wasn't about the lyrics

1. Why have lyrics at all? Why can't a producers get paid off just instrumentals?

2. Why can't the rapper get big off saying something positive (or just neutral) over the same beat? You'd probably have a bigger fanbase.

People want to hear mostly ignorant shyt from hip hop artists. I wonder why...

Still doesn't change the fact that things were way more violent in the 80's when there was only 5 rappers. Rap is only a soundtrack. Poverty, poor schools, and lack of guidance have bigger impacts on most ghetto children's lives.

TYRONE GA!
But this type hip hop has been around since the early 90s.

We was lil nikkaz listenin to the same exact shyt.

Not sayin that makes this cool and acceptable....but it's jut different because of the Internet is involved i.e twitter Facebook, worldstar

Exploitation to the maximum nowadays, its the name of the game

Difference is back then you knew not to take this shyt seriously. Even as a youngin. Spice 1 was one of my favorite rappers and I even I knew he was telling a bunch of :duck:

But one big difference between now and then is that you actually had to be able to rap. That shyt went out the window ever since crossing over became acceptable.

Chief Keef was the proof I needed to finally realize that rap music is only around now to keep us stuck on stupid as a culture and race. It is controlled by a bunch of cynical, greedy old white men who only sign and promote the lowest common denominator (ie lowlife trash) of our community....Chief Keef is a failed abortion, crack baby, piece of low life scum that is everything that is wrong with our young black generation. Uneducated, violent, fatherless, and without any moral code....So who does Jimmy Iovine go and sign and promote....these crack babies, babies GBE and Chief Keef....I am completely done with rap music and this new generation of ratchet trash rappers is the reason.
You got little kids rapping about killing each other and its all good now :comeon:

Too bad nobody is going to take what you said seriously. Some nikkas just like being kept on the plantation :smugbiden: . Aint nothing you can do about them but keep yourself moving ahead and continue breaking the chains of social boundaries breh.

Hip Hop was the reaction to senseless violence in the streets. It's what NY gangs in the 70s turned to INSTEAD of breaking each others' skulls. Just like anything we try to do worthwhile, let the European Americans get ahold of it and now it's poison. Crips and Bloods are what's left of the Panthers after the CIA got through with them.

:heh: You try so hard to defend musicians, who are apart of the social forces that shape society and our social development.

Why? :ld:

You are aware of the effect music has on weak-minded individuals, right?

Nah the music isnt the source, would you rather blame the result of the problem or the problem?

The problem is this whole liberal idea of "Do what thou will"

As a nation you we are throwing away the traditions of family and marriage, and with that comes a culture as such as the one we have now

These rappers are only the result of such a thing breh:steviej:

Uhh no...... :rudy: That was a really bad excuse....

Music and entertainment still has a big part in our social development. Not only does it help with our socialization, but it also inspires us as well and gives us role models in which we shape our behavior and interest around. It's not the rappers fault for rapping about their condition, but it is the Record Companies fault for seeking these "images" and promoting them to our youth.

You're not giving media enough credit for its influence, and its beginning to look mad suspect :troll: . And this happens in every thread where someone questions what an artist represents. You're always there :cape: to the accused's rescue.

Why :ld: ? I've never seen someone so passionate arguing opposing opinions. I'd just not even bother.

I jus like to humble the self righteous and expose them to their own evils and the evils of their role models :manny:

true, as simple and elementary as someone like Biz Markie's lyrics were back in the day they're still more complex than the shyt nikkas is spitting today.
