It is in some places. Currency , laws is a misnomer in this instance. Can you hear the Canadian accent? And we are much safer. What bind us together is the media, because Canada basically has no original TV shows anymore. We've neglected the CBC too long.

There are many areas in America that are very safe. Boston is safe like a Canadian city. So is San Francisco. NYC actually has a crime rate comparable to Toronto now.
Now, Chicago, Detroit, Cleveland, St Louis. All in the midwest which was hit the hardest by things like the crack epidemic and economic downturn. Also the kids from these areas flock to the coast. What you see in those cities is not close to the norm through out the US

NYC is rude. But so is Toronto. That nice stuff happens on the west Coast and Chicago.

Outside of culture, Canada is different from America in every single way on paper... and even then when you get deeper into culture Canada is still noticably different.
America has a very unique culture in its different regions... I will say that... where as Canadian culture is just about the same in every big city from Halifax to Victoria.

Yes,Americans refer to themselves as american,Canadians identify with there actual heritage and background first and being Canadian second.....Which is why you got neighbourhoods here with different flags on the cars and houses..
IN America you'd just see american flags everywhere,nobody celebrates there REAL family background....
