At the end of the day RAPPERS should NEVER sign to other rappers.period

cause they NEVER have thier best intrests at hand

Especially in a competetive field like Rap...where everybody is a potential rival
Its worked with CERTAIN artists, UNLESS you can sign to a guy who is VERY successful and isn't concerned with how their new artists do:

Drake, TI, Wayne, Ross...etc.

Some artists have content thats just NOT going to be popular.

Dude is on that mumble rap tip. That doesn't work well for the mainstream.

Gibbs has dope songs, but he's not making anything that fits any climate.

Jeezy can only do but so much. He's not Ross or T.I.

:dead: at mumble rap i swear yall will say anything to make a point. gibbs seriously got one of the best flows right now period, can turn on/off the doubletime with pure ease. gibbs isn't gonna blow because the average listener is just :scusthov: because 'bout it bout it' sounds just right for the climate

gibbs came out about 5-6 years too late but he'll be beloved for his output in a couple years cause he seriously has one of the nicest discographies of the last 5+ years

jeezy is one of my favorite artists eer, but I knew Gibbs would get screwed out of this deal because the conversation would turn from is gibbs making dope music to he can't make a hit and jeezy can't do everything for him

We'll never know what it truly came down to unless both artists give more information, which we know they wont do. But I do recall Gibbs stating that Jeezy didn't keep the promises he made upon signing with CTE.
We have enough to know.

Gibbs wanted Jeezy to do all the work.

I LIKE gibbs...but so what?

Dude just won't appeal to that many people.

Its not Jeezy's job to make you into what you're not.

90 percent of the people that bump Gibbs do it off the strength of Jeezy, so hating on him makes no sense. Up to a certain point, all the press and interviews GIbbs was getting was about how he felt post the Jeezy situation and Gibbs capitalized off of dissing Jeezy and other big names. I respect Gibbs as a artist but lets keep it in perspective. Most of the people in this very thread that love Gibbs and hate Jeezy know that they would of never heard of Gibbs if not for the co-sign.
:wtf:
We just gonna ignore the Madlib connection?
I first got wind of Gibbs from the project he did with Statik Selektah. But once Thuggin dropped :banderas:I knew they were gonna make something special.
His work outside of Madlib is hit or miss with a lot of :scusthov:beats.

i addressed the mumble rap aspect, he doesn't mumble rap. if you need that drake level enunciation, then say that because everything sounds clear and he has one of the nicest flows

and then the rest of the post I just gave my opinion on the thread and isn't for you specifically

You're feeling butthurt but you're not getting it.

He DOES mumble-rap to MOST people who would ever hear him.

Take your fan glasses off and see it in the eyes of the average, passive fan.
