Simple story short: on a last minute client zoom meeting.

performing well, giving great input. Mid-call, boss asks me to turn camera on and I joke it off, because im 2 weeks overdue for a cut. My hairline and beard look homeless status until my barber appointment this friday.

boss asks again, i lightly say i don’t feel my best presentation wise. He gets annoyed about this and after the call sends me an email stating so.

context: im the only breh, all my coworkers are 60+ YT ppl, They DON’T have a concept of a hairline or needing an edgeup etc they get haircuts once every 2-3 months and have no facial hair.

If I had a few days notice I would definitely arrange to be presentable for camera, but this was only setup 25 minutes prior.

Am I wrong for not wanting to show my James Evans minifro and homeless man beard on Zoom?
Here's where you fukked up. It's on you to stay presentable at all times. Like you would at the office. They can't make special considerations for you or give you a few days notice. Working from home shouldn't mean loosing professional conduct.

The company is doing that to make sure you are doing what you’re supposed to be doing and where you’re supposed to be. My job does the same thing, it took me a min to figure out why it was such a big deal for an hour meeting once or twice a month but then it hit me. There are gray areas in this work from home game they’re still trying to figure out. You might have just brought yourself some unwanted attention and they gonna be monitoring you more closely

:ohhh:The diplomacy in this response is astounding.

Would you be interested in a job as press secretary? You got the skill set. And i hear the white house is hiring.:ehh:
:dwillhuh:

A few people think that comment is genius but it's not.

I'd suspect you were lying if you said that to me and I'm not technology expert. Furthermore it creates another problem. A concern that OP does not have the resources to work from home.

Y'all really be playing these games with people? Because they see thru as hell :pachaha:

Bruh the fact that you had to break that down

:dead:

Navigating corporate work spaces required a level of self accounting in order to avoid being micro managed.
