"I shoot ya bytch and leave u broadless, so if u want it we can start the static like a cordless..."

He bodied. And he spit a better verse than Mase on that same song. That freestyle posted in the OP is the best shyt Mase ever spit. Lol. And I'm not hating cause I'm one of the first people to vouch for Mase' mic skills. It's just Cam had been more consistently dope. No contest if u wanna bring consistency into it. Plus like I said before. That nikka literally created a whole new style to run with for the 2000's. From the effortless bars to the continuously rhyming the same word with different meanings shyt that JR Writer mastered.

:heh:

Aight, bro. We'll agree to disagree. Like I said...Nobody can ever make me not think Mase the best rapper to blow from Harlem. The talent is undeniable.

Californ-i-a by way of BK
I love Big L but he couldn't make songs like this. Mase was much more versatile. Big L was A great story teller at times and punch line rapper but Mase had songs that could be played in a club setting and headphones. Plus he could do some r&b shyt.

@FreshAIG

I feel what you're saying but I think that's more Diddy thing than Mase being more versatile. Like I feel Big L could've easily made those type of songs if he had a Diddy or a professional hit maker on his side. He had great artists like Diamond D and Buckwild around him but they didn't have the ability to turn rappers into superstars.

Years after his prime:

And let's be real, Cam would get washed on a track with Mase in 2016. Mase still rhymes on a very high level.

If they did a joint album I think Mase would get him on most tracks but the tracks Cam got him on, he'd kill him. I put it like this, Cam has a higher ceiling but Mase has a higher floor. In other words, Mase lightest verses are far better than Cam's lightest verses but Cam at his peak is better than Mase at his peak.

This is a good way to put it. Cam could reach levels I've never ever seen Mase reach.

Put it like this. Listen to this Purple Haze Intro. The shyt is so effortless u don't even notice all the internals and multis he spittin. He literally bodied this shyt and still smooth as fukk on the track.

Now if I posted the lyrics u would understand what I'm saying. Cam in his prime >>>>> Mase in his prime.
