What am I desperate of breh?
you desperately tried to make it seem the only reason I believe in God is because I don't want to end up not existing after I die. You pulled up one little sentence and came to your own conclusion. How the hell does me saying, I don't understand how people can live having the belief that they will cease to exist after they die, make you think that's the only reason I believe in God? You're desperate for a back and fourth.

So why do you believe in a deity?

You have to have a certain amount of humility to admit that there's no way we can know for sure what happens after you die. It takes a shyt load of arrogance and delusion to say exactly what happens by referencing some ducktales you've been brainwashed with. I mean, it sounds childish to think you're going to some gum drop and candy cane land after you die, so long as you act right. Sounds awful convenient huh? Like something someone would say to you if they wanted to keep you in line huh?

I used to be heavy into the religion stuff, but looking up all the contradictions in the bible and religion made me think otherwise, not even getting started on how ridiculous religion is :heh: I'm somewhere between an Agnostic and Atheist, I'm not sure if a God exists, and if it does I doubt it's as depicted the way the bible tells it. (Hell the bible has been revised so many times, I can't understand how people use it as a source :heh: ) I'm suppose to believe a book that justifies slavery, contradictions on us, etc. Hell God wiped us all out before with the flood just to bring the same people he wanted out :snoop: Hell if God is so powerful and the devil is his enemy, why don't he just kufi smack dude and get it over with instead of lingering dude around.

where in my post did you get that impression? I don't even believe in religion like that, but I definitely do believe there is a higher being.
Death is probably like what it was like before you were born. Non-existence is only scary when you're existing. An afterlife doesn't sound fun to me either, spending an ETERNITY somewhere? That sounds like torture to me. Believing made up things just to comfort myself doesn't work, my mind will not accept ideas without proof. But why waste time fretting about death or what happens after you die? That's dumb. The entire concept of death is scary, I don't know why believing there is an afterlife somehow comforts you.

I don't really believe that there is one god that created the whole universe, but I do believe there is something beyond us that we cannot explain, perhaps something spiritual.

I have looked a lot into this and of course no-one really 100% knows the truth, but I believe when we die, we do go to a sort of heaven. Not one run by god as such, but one which is personal to us individually.

Everyones would be different, but perfectly suited to them.

lol some people might think I'm talking a load of nonsense, but w/e

"We are going to die - and that makes us the lucky ones. Most people are never going to die, because they're never going to be born. The number of people who could be here, in my place, outnumber the sand grains of the Sahara. If you think about all the different ways in which our genes could be permuted, you and I are quite grotesquely lucky to be here. The number of events that had to happen in order for you and I to exist...we are privileged to be alive, and we should make the most of our time in this world."
-Richard Dawkins

@Napoleon, funny how dawkins point seems to be aligned perfectly with what i told you; but i guess you're smarter than he was.
