OK, I think it's pretty much unanimous that Shaq/AI don't win ish, because of AI's style of play.

Vince was "give him an elbow and he's pretty much a jumpshooter rest of game. Tmac - Houston got out of the first round with him sidelined. That's hilarious. Pierce wasn't as good as them, and who is the leader? Remember Cyber-Toine AKA Employee #8 was the leader of the successful teams. Ray - maybe, but they would need some else to stop up a notch.

The thing about all those guys is that they were all the focal point of their teams offense and of the opposing teams defense. You put them on a team where Shaq is in that role and allows them to do their thing with more freedom and I dont see how they don't flourish. Let's not forget it took Kobe a full year to adjust to playing without Shaq. So I don't think it's that big a reach to believe that other top perimeter players would have been that much better playing with him as young players rather than being asked to carry the whole load.

The biggest thing that people overlook is the competition or lack thereof. During that time all of the top players were pretty much on their own island carrying teams full of role players. The key to the Lakers dominance was the fact that they had an elite post player and elite perimeter guy and all the teams they were playing were lacking in one of those areas.
