i don't think you can even begin to compare the 90's hip hop to hip hop of today

We went from hardcore lyricism to nikkas just caring about flowing well.

Were probably gonna slowly shift towards lyricism again but i doubt we'll see another golden era.

i've learned that you have to just let things be as they are now

ain't no goin' back

the past is the past

what's done is done

i was thinkin' bout this tonight, even though i think the 90's hip hop era was by far better than now, i really can't compare it to now because for 1 it's like night and day; no comparison and 2. the 90's are what they were and now is what it is

simple as that

i think for so long i was in my own bubble with music that i often times didn't give a lot of stuff a fair chance even if it was good, because to me, it was like if it was a similar sound of the past, i felt like i'd heard it before. but everythin' goes in cycles so that's inevitable anyway

i no longer feel the need to bash hip hop of today. i think i've finally realized to accept it for what it is; if it's wack it's wack and that's always been the case with any era or anythin' but if it's great and or good enjoyable, interestin', fun or catchy music to listen then enjoy it for what it is and nothin' more, nothin' less

it's time to embrace the future and what it has to offer

Lyricism won't ever be as potent because the rappers are offkey with outdated rhymes and technical skills.
So, their convincability will never materialize to make you key into the lyrics.

Thats how I feel Its like rap is dead now...ain't shyt to embrace cuz it's trash

Yea, i used to think it was "dead" also, but its not. Its just that a certain type of hiphop isn't being ALLOWED to be heard in the mainstream anymore, thus forcing al these aspiring rappers to make the same type of music in order to be heard. Not to mention most of the music (this even includes so-called R&B) is catering to stripclubs. The dumbing down of hiphop was intentional. Always keep in mind who REALLY controls hiphop now.

I am deso on that list, breh.
Other than Sean price because of nostalgia.
I would.not be checking that shyt out past the dre and I reviewed that oh first listen and never listened again.
That list really can not hold my attention at all.
They don't rhyme advanced enough to hold my attention for repeat spins.
