I dont understand the Kendrick hype

I haven't listened to another artist since I discovered kendrick's albums, I haven't even listened to nas in months

Took me a few weeks to udnerstand some of the bars on gkmc, some of them are too complex for simple minds

He rapped his ass off, gained fans, got a major studio deal and made GKMC... it's that simple

Kendrick Lamar clearly takes his music serious, and that is evident with GKMC... GKMC is not your average album full of Pro Tools Sessions. He actually sat down, and got creative trying to tell his story. It's a hell of a debut.

Also on a personal note, I respect him as a artist because he's not afraid to rap about his faith. Now I know alot
of nikkas in here aren't religious or don't believe in God and all that but I do.

He just makes good music, if you ain't feeling his music don't force it.

Songs like HiiiPower, ADHD, Sing About Me aren't just your everyday average tracks.

As for the voice effects... meh it grew on me. Don't distract me from his lyrics so I'm cool with it. He can rap, he write write, he can perform. I mean what do you want us to say? You either like him or you don't



This is just good music

One of my favorite tracks with him is His Pain. With BJ The Chicago Kid, who I feel is a underrated artist. But I know nikkas in The Coli aren't going to appreciate that song.

And what I like the most about kendrick is definitely his voice.

I don't see him as a master lyricist, but dude can paint a dope picture, and flow over beats and definitely used that talent to craft a great album.

He ain't super lyrical but to say he don't have good lyrics is just blasphemy to me. He obviously takes his music serious and sits down and writes. Creative innovation is written all over GKMC.


He's not a conscious rapper, he's a spitter. People connect with his passion for music. He been since what 16? He ain't no average nikka that just jumped into game by paying his way or whatever people make excuses for. He worked to get where he's at.

Kendrick can rap about anything.

Women, Love, Faith, Religion, Death, etc...


I started listening to him when Lupe gave him the cosign, called his album, Album of the year. So I checked it out and instantly became of fan. bytch Don't Kill My Vibe is a timeless track to me, it will never get old because the groove of the beat is hard not bob your head to.

I don't understand why people hate to see this dude succeed. How can you not appreciate his hustle... His dedication, his determination?
