Lost to Al Snow on a random RAW, talked about this before. Imagine pitching Austin or HHH to lose to Al Snow even if it wasn’t clean :mjlol:
He feuded with al snow for a whole month so hhh could become a main eventer. Then jobbed to hhh the whole first half of 2000.

No top Babyface since has gotten their ass whooped that much.

Its truly :ohhh: /:stopitslime: looking back. I remember a lot of the Ls but I also remember not being phased. The irony is that in trying to hurt him they really exposed how great he was. He was so over that it legit didnt matter if he won. Then you got guys like Triple H that would be Al Snow or BA Gunn if it wasnt for relationships and politics and creative BS. Now that I think about it the only other top guys that could stay over while losing are probably Stone Cold and Flair.

There is a reason every top star in the WWF/WWE history has been overly protected/paranoid about how they are booked. They didn’t want losses and/or looking weak to be reasons why they lost their spot. It’s really crazy that Rock’s booking in 99-00 didn’t hurt him at all. But at the same time, I did wish he can some more extended title runs. He really should’ve had two big title runs from Mania 16 to Mania 17 imo.

I ran 99/00 back on the network a few years ago and was watching like :skip: Cena would never.

:unimpressed: They had the nikka eat a pin from an x-pac spinning heel kick.

The crowd even got tired of it. There's a raw when the crowd was chanting "same ol bullshyt". I didn't remember that shyt being like that at all.

Him losing at WM 2000 was criminal. fukkin Paul of all people was the first heel to win. The guy that needed you to add Foley and Show and the entire McMahon family to the main event...him? Thats the first heel to win? :snoop: In retrospect they deserved Rock going Hollywood. No telling what kinda bullshyt they pull if he sticks around.

They can claim whatever they want, but there was no reason that Rock shouldn't have left Wrestlemania 2000 with the belt. Instead, they gave him the title at Backlash two months later only for him to drop it again at Judgement Day 2000 a month after that.

He should have carried and then dropped it at Judgement Day if they wanted to get it on HHH so badly (who, at the time, still wasn't completely being bought into by fans.) I don't believe any other of Vince's top guys would have gotten some of the bizarre losses that Rock endured. No one who made Vince that sort of money was ever taken for granted in that manner.

I would say ease the brakes as Dvon was just saying he didn't think Hogan was racist.

So teddy Long (who JR likely hired bc of knowing him in wcw/nwa), Ron Simmons (probably same situation), Shelton (JR hired him), multiple others...where are the shoot interviews?

I'm not saying he's not, but why have we not heard a single word from anyone else all this time? JR hasn't been relevant in a position of power to do anything in almost 20 years, so it's not like he can blacklist someone.

Are there any other comments on JR from any others?

Honestly majority of the title runs in the Attitude Era were booked poorly. But that’s mostly because Russo’s Crash TV style booking and not respecting pro wrestling as a simulated sporting event. The product was so hot, it didn’t hurt business or fan interest. For example Austin’s 1st title run shouldn’t have ended at King of the Ring just to pop a rating for RAW. Kane should’ve at least had until SummerSlam or they should set up the Survivor Series tournament if they wanted to have Austin chase until next Mania.

Rock would do jobs...but he was so magnificent on the mic...he got cheered even more. Of course he was above losing that much but they made sure you knew the totem pole. Taker rarely lost after returning in 2000 but he never mattered over Rock or Austin. After Judgement Day 2000...Cripple H pretty much became the Rock's slave. And the internet was always complaining that since the Rock never lost clean, he was Superman. Not a real lost because someone always interfered in those losses.

The problem with Rock was that he didn't really make anyone despite losing matches. He could have made guys like Mr Ass, Benoit and Booker but he would always win
