I thought a are would eventually adjust his game to be less explosive and complimentary like how Antonio McDyess once he had similar injury problem like Amare and lost his explosive. Mydyess reinvented his game and was a very good player well into his thirties. But I guess not.

Woodson Is Partially To Blame For That But Thats Another Story

that pre melo team wasn't going anywhere
it was just half a season and we were still only 500
factor in how injury prone amare, wilson chandler and gallarini are, it would of been hell

yup.

and people forget that their fluke run was over and they had already started losing. thats why the knicks finally pushed the button on the deal.

We made the playoffs as well the past 3 seasons, so what are you saying???

Exactly what I said in the post you quoted. The expectations for the two teams were not the same therefore to compare them as if they were is silly. Nuggets lost their superstar and the Knicks gained said superstar and only one playoff series victory separates them and the Nuggets have the better overall record. How is that not advantage Nuggets? nikkas need to stop trying to act like these teams were on equal footing or had comparable goals/expectations.

youre forgetting that the nuggets had a better overall squad(besides just Carmelo) than the knicks had. plus they were 2 seasons removed from the Carmelo deal, and both teams made a bunch of other moves by then. I didn't even know some you actually still compared the knicks & nuggets in 2013. its pointless.

btw, the Celtics' D would've put the clamps on the nuggets.

Funny thing is I didn't, the Knicks fan I was quoting did and I responded.

If I had told you the day after the trade in Feb 2011 that the Nuggets will have a better overall record than the Knicks and make the playoffs the next 3 years you woulda hit me with the :comeon:.

Amare is the last person anybody should feel bad for. Yeah I'm upset at what his career has become but he's beyond blessed and one of the most fortune players ever. The guy is barely playing like 20min a game but making 20m a season

Qa
team was like 2 games over .500 at the all star break, lets not over exaggerate friends.

the problem wasnt even amares knees when melo got there, the demise began when he hurt his back doing a pre-game dunk before game 2 against the celtics in 2011. :snoop: especially after beasting in game one. that injury led him to bulking up over the summer which was a mistake because he lost all quickness and has been a shell ever since.

Stat killed Garnett in game 1
Knicks woulda won dat game if they called da moving screen on garnett
That melo/amare/billups trio was nice.
Amare got hurt game before game 2 and I think billups got hurt at da end of game 1 so they really never got a chance
Da rest of da team was full of bums and we still had da celtics sweating every game

So true. And I actually meant to make my post in the Knicks thread.

Maybe these early losses will be a good thing. Maybe it forces a closed door meeting where dudes get things off their chest and allow the team to bond more.

Woody is on edge because Dolan made it that way. Firing Grunwald is huge because that's Woody's old college teammate. To me that sense of family of last year is done and Dolan pulled off the mask to show the devil he really is. His bottom line is 'I spent and billion dollars on a new arena and I expect to win now'. No more coddling, no rebuilding, no next year. Just win now or your fired. It's cold out there breh.
Very good post
You can just tell the sense of family is gone
No one looks happy
Woodson had glen and da support
Felton had Kidd to school him
Melo and chandler had sheed, Kurt Kidd to keep them focused
Amare and Kenyon had a role
Jr was put in check for da most part and embraced his role
Shumpert was doing the knickstape thing
Guys just seemed like a family
This year is complete opposite so far

Co-sign...

The knicks were playing well during that time but...

Amare has been on borrowed time since he first signed that deal with the knicks...it was only a question of when his knees would give out

Gallarini is injury prone

Wilson Chandler is injury prone

Knicks fans thinking those 3 players were going to take them somewhere when all three tend to spend as much times on the sidelines in suits as in jerseys?

The only reason i feel bad for Amare is because you can see him being frustrated & trying & wanting to do well...but he just can't.

Whether it's because he physically can't do what he used to...or can no longer hit the jumper like he used to because he's not active enough...or is pretty much asked to play D & switch, etc. where his brain cannot compute such things........it's really painful to watch.

actually I wouldn't have commented because a lot can happen in 3 years.

plus, the nuggets were built to run up reg season records. they aint win a playoff series yet tho.

And that's still better than what they were realistically expected to do after trading their superstar. It took them 7 years to win a playoff series with Melo. People keep trying to make this about Denver and it's laughable. The onus was not on Denver to do anything after trading Melo. Like I said the Nuggets made that trade just to keep their heads above water. The Knicks made that trade to be contenders. Now you tell me who has come closer to their goal. :usure:
