This just sounds like a case of you thinking "white is right" OP. Because Im not sure how you look around and dont see the white musicians are trash too. Plenty of trash white movies too. Politics, cacs voted in Trump:mjlol:.

Do you see more diversity creatively among other groups? Yes

But I dont want diversity among black people within white supremacy. That "we are not a monolith" talk is dangerous. Not saying I want us to all be on some ignorant shyt either btw. But coloring outside the lines doesnt seem to end well within this environment. Like your mama used to tell you as a child in the grocery store or mall "Dont go where I cant see you:ufdup:". Once we leave the country and enter a safe space, then the artistic nature can truely flow.

Wow.

You just blew my mind with an epiphany.

In my last 2 years elementary, I was removed from my neighborhood school and sent to a “white” school for “the gifted”

Only almost all of my classmates were white/Jewish/Asian…

It was so weird going to school, then coming home

But as kids do, I acclimated and made best friends. But like, you were bullied in school if you couldn’t read well, and people would argue about who is the smartest kid in class and rank them…

But in my old school, and when I transferred back to my area schools, we argued about who was the toughest/best athlete, and hand to the Bible, I would pretend I couldn’t read good when asked to read out loud so I wouldn’t sound “white” or like a Know it all…

Unfortunately how you handle this comes down to the individual and whether your family prepares you for the negativity. My bro always let it get to him.

I was fat as a kid and brehs used to try clowning me because I was smart and I was a smart ass who always asked a lot of questions. One day a breh tried clowning on me and I asked dude out loud “why would I not wanna do well? Are you really glad to be failing?” He called me a fat ass and I told him “I can diet to lose weight, I don’t think there’s a diet for you to get less stupid” :russ:

We fought after school and I took that L but I went out swinging and held my own. But then again I’ve always been stubborn like that and I recognise peer pressure is a lot

It's not so much that mediocrity is accepted it's that excellence gets punished so what's the point of striving for it?

As for the education issue. Kids aren't foolish. They know that if there's no reward for their hard work why bother with it? And it's the same with adults.

Because academics and others talk to Black people in the hood and elsewhere as if they're in a Black country where hard work in the black community gets rewarded and Black people control their own employment.

Instead of speaking to them in a way that acknowledges their situation....that they're in a majority white country where whites have no interest in hiring Black people no matter how intelligent or hard working they are.

And that's where the anti-intellectual and anti-work culture comes from. Because if work and intellectual achievement isn't rewarded then it won't be pursued.

It's the perception of instant gratification that caused that

50% feels like 90% when you're accustomed to being 0% for centuries due to the obvious. Similar phenomenon is how some folk don't know how to act when a large amount of wealth hits them suddenly :francis:

Alot of us just don’t have aspirations because of misapplied religious scriptures(being humble, easier for camel go through eye of a needle etc), and just low self confidence to were we think shyt just can’t happen for us
Don't think about trying to do better for yourself! Reminds me of this video.

Disagree with the entertainment piece. We fell off but so did White entertainment as a whole.

Modern White American entertainment has been utterly mid for years now from the music to the shows. There's diamonds in the rough just like with our current entertainment but it fell off from it's glory days. There's not a single White show on TV that's remotely as good as Married With Children, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Columbo, and prime Simpsons/South Park. And the music acts fell the hell off too. Morgan Wallen is gutter trash musically and he's big af right now. And Billie Eilish is a diet Lana Del Rey doing the bare minimum. And White actors today are so trash that they're getting replaced by foreigners at a faster rate than Black Americans. Tom Holland is British and he's one of the leading young male actors today lol.

I agree with you on everything else though regarding education and things like that. Like Denzel said, the problem starts in the home. I used to tutor Black boys for math in school and a number of them had fathers in jail and mothers on drugs or were mostly raised by their grandparents. And, under circumstances like that, the bar remains low for what is deemed success.

@Iverson_64 what are the reasons in your opinion why white entertainment and culture is mid and had fallen off? Laziness and complacency?

wildcats nation
Not just Americans, in Nigeria too, the average citizen is conditioned to accept mediocrity.
Hell, I think the every black nation/community is plagued with mediocre leaders that make mediocre decisions and mediocre citizens.

Best solution is for communities/nations to pick better leaders and hold them accountable. But that’s a huge task for black citizens.

Shut the fukk up and stop holding us to a standard others aren't held to.

Plenty of shytty kung-fu films. Plenty of shytty white made films.

Garbage like Honey Boo Boo and The Duggans is thing. Jerry Springer was huge back in the 90s.

I'm not a fan of Tyler Perry's work but what I'm not going to do is act like other races of people need to reach some high bar. It goes against the reality which is us having to be 10 times better, for the most part, to receive the same opportunities.

On principle, hold this neg.

Don’t worry. A ruler is on his way. He will guide the black race and her supporters to a destination of greatness. I see him on the horizon. I see it. There’s a crown of light around his head. He’s riding a thing perceived as a horse but isn’t. Oh my. My goodness. Oh god how thankful I am that you picked me from a repository of souls in heaven. And bestowed onto me the opportunity to mingle with the children of men.

- the prayer of the one who was before you were.

Where y’all live? It’s more money talk, land grabbing, organic living, spirituality, community building than ever witnessed going on right now.

Everywhere I go, folks I congregate with is all about elevation right now. Even the can’t get rights are moving accordingly.

Where y’all be where folks are regressing?
