This thinking is why Xbox is always ahead of Sony when it comes to so many Gems, especially games with legs and GAAS.
Even lies of P was trying to get hate until it was just undeniable that it was a good game.
Lies of P dropped in 2023 which also was a stacked year for gamepass, 2022 was probably gamepasses weakest year for triple A and double A games. But it still had a ton of top tier indie game releases like tunic and shredders revenge.

This is true. Sony stans tried to tell me Lies of P was a bad game. And shyt ended up being one of the best non-From Souls games.
Rest of what you're saying is stan babble. It wasn't a stacked year. The next best game was Wulong, after Lies of P.

Which are big enough alone to say it had a good year, but if when you add some of the following it's pretty stacked.
Then they had a bunch of other great games and critically acclaimed games like TMNT, coc00n, planet of Lana, Humanity, Jusant. All which released day and date.
If 1 to 2 games releases each month that you want to play, that's pretty stacked.
Game Pass is a godsend for someone like me. Constant projects around the house, dealing with my toddler, and of course work. No rush to finish a lot of stuff. Know it’s gonna be there

I had gamepass stacked up from 2021 to 2024 and the only games that got burn from me were Lies of P and battlefield 2042
. They never had day 1 GOTY heat like this year.

Gamepass usually has about one game per year I’d pay full price for
