I talk to younger kids at work and it boggles my mind they know absolutely nothing about history

They don’t know who was in ww2

They don’t know who Nixon was

They don’t know anything about Bush

shyt is sad
How old are they?

To be fair I was a nerd and that type of shyt interested me as a kid, but most of the people I knew growing up weren't aware of previous history like that.

I'm 35 and if you asked a teenager about Watergate when I was 13-17 they wouldn't know anything about it.

Only thing I remember floating around as a topic amongst teenagers was 9/11 conspiracies.

That's unfortunate, but understandable.

This. Our current system pushes productivity and making it happen right now, I could see why someone would feel that spending time learning history is pointless and gets in the way of making money. I just think that is a narrow way of seeing things. Someone who studies history could have seen the run on gold coming and made some bread.
