It all depends on the company though. My current company couldn't verify my employment with the background check companyand asked for receipts. I didn't lie so it was easy to prove.

I was once told by someone in a position of power at a fortune 500 that are laws that only certain info can be divulged. Confirmation of employment yes. Specific dates no, unless you required some level of federal clearance.

These are all slightly above minimum wage jobs so I’ve gotten away with it before
But their email said specifically make sure the dates are accurate
Or termination or your hire can be rescinded

I lied so I could get through the interview phase...told them I been working at my current gig for a year when it’s really been 3 months
My boss said he would cover for me

But now I’m gonna have to go looking through emails for old versions of my resume

In the past 2 years I’ve had

Including one I’ve left and came back

asking for myself too, i have a few charges (i know, me huh) but they got expunged. i also got fired from one of my jobs


will they check my education history too? i lied about graduating (meaning having the official diploma). i did the ceremony via petition but technically got one more summer class left to take. im lowkey spooked now
