Any update fam?
I got a background check for my new job and I lie about job dates so much I don’t know

yeah bro they never ended up saying a thing about it. i guess the front of the background check form gave a passing status so HR didn’t feel the need to look any further than that to check if i omitted anything
and i had a third party conduct the check. the bgc company could only verify what i included on their own separate application, they didn’t have any cross reference to what i actually showed my job during the interview, or beforehand
also my records got expunged so they never showed up either. i wouldn’t worry about it
edit: for the education history and “alumni” status i accidentally put on my resume, i let my department manager know ahead of time before submitting my background check that i technically graduated by participating in the ceremony but my official degree was going to take more time to come through the mail and i wouldn’t have it until after i finished my final summer class (which was on the same day as the effective hire date).
then i told him i would bring verification from my advisor that showed i completed all my courses required for my diploma to be sent after the class finalized
i asked if there was anything i should change regarding the yes/no diploma question on the background check to make sure i was doing it correctly and if it would have any kind of impact on me. he said not to worry too much about it to just check “no” and that he trusted me to show the evidence later

I work in HR, if you’re lower level they don’t gaf. They are just making sure you aren’t a rapist or murderer or kiddie fiddler.
The labor market is so tight right now they aren’t letting people go for frivolous shyt like dates on work history, if they even check at all. I’ve worked for 2 fortune 500’s and they didn’t check my dates or references. 1 did however perform a drug test even though the job was remote, so watch out for that shyt too.

Yeah the amount of companies reaching out to me right now is nuts after i touched up my resume with some realistic ducktales. I have 2 jobs in the pipeline that im pretty much a lock for both right now. I have a “final interview” with one with the CFO and HR. But the HR lady said its basically a formality. The second said they were very impressed with my interview are expect to hear offer by friday. Before i told ducktales all i was getting was Indian recruiters

Yeah honestly im not too worried. Just like you a little nervous so close to landing something nice . I put i had a completely unrelated social degree which i dont but the job is in IT
Not necessarily. Depends on the company they are using. Many have lied about even having a bachelors and got through because it costs time and money companies rarely invest to hunt down registrar offices to then pay for transcripts, verify them etc. they “typically” take the employees word for it knowing if there was ever a degree round up they would be terminated immediately (which is why most don’t bother lying about it).They check for grad school?
