actually, I saw the job on glassdoor, so I went and applied monday, and they hit me today. See the job is working with a very specific software, but when I left that job, I actually went to the company that built the software, so I'm qualified. I wouldn't take the job for less than 10K more and it's a senior position as well so.....

also, they moved their office since I last worked there. the commute is about half as far as what it used to be, so it wouldn't be so much of an issue like it was originally.

nothing is mine. I am only doing the phone interview. and they'll probably want me to come in for a face to face inteview.

to be honest, I dont even have a suit. I have gotten my last 3 jobs without a suit

if i get a chance at another promotion at work this year (would be the 3rd in 2 years)....i'm coming for the money, last 2 times I took what they gave ($0, then 10%, after I got 6% for asking for it, that GM was cheap). this time, I want a $10,000 raise.

A lot of positions have a range, unbeknownst to most applicants. Most employers try to dikk you by giving you the amount on the lower end.

True, the $10000 raise would be in the middle of the new pay range. the top of the range for the position i would like to be in is just over 45k.

I made it my mission to know all the ranges and where I stand against those ranges. The max raise for the position I want is 30%. I will be asking for 35 to 40%.
