Ya'll know I been looking for a job recently, still nothing though. So about a week ago I got a text from one of my friends saying his friend recently got a spot open in his company and was looking for some hard workers to make some money part time.
So you know I'm desperate as fukk for money right now so text him back and tell him I'm available. So Sunday I get a call from dude telling me his "very successful" friend is on the line and he wants to speak to me. So we chop it up for a bit I tell him when can we meet and tells me that he, my friend and some other people are having a meeting Monday at 7:30 PM. At this point I'm like what the hell? I tell him cool but he tells me he can't promise me anything.
Ok so I haul ass all the way from Brooklyn to Manhattan, and reach the place. Here I am thinking it's gonna be a little job interview type meeting with about 4-5 people but I go in the building to the 6th floor and it's a whole fukking room full of people. About 40-50.
So I finally meet dude, and the first thing I noticed was how bad the nikka smelled.
Anyway he tells me that my homeboy forgot he had to go to work so he couldn't make it.
So dude tells me what am I specifically interested in doing, and I tell him I'm down to do anything for the summer just to make some cash but I'd prefer sales and customer service. So breh tells me grab a seat were gonna have a presentation and we'll talk after.
So I grab a seat and they bring out this former Red Sox player, Steve or Steven something I can't remember the dude's name and I looked on Wikipedia and I can't find him either so...
So dude goes on and on about making money and how people work for someone else the entire week and don't get to enjoy themselves. Dude says he didn't like playing baseball because he was on the field all the time and had no time to enjoy himself and basically saying that people live for the weekends.
So the shyt is sort of catching my interest and I'm thinking dude is some sort of entrepreneur and all that shyt.
Now dude starts playing a video of some company called Amway. It wasn't this video but it was close to it.
After the video is done I'm likeand finally realize this is one of them pyramid schemes.
So at this point I'm just likeat how I actually ended up in one of these. Some kid gets up and starts walking out and the speaker's like "Have a good night"
When dude reaches the door he says "It's ok he has to go work for someone in the morning I don't."
At that point I'm not really fukking with the vibe in the room and I'm ready to leave. So we see a bunch of nikkas in the room that they're calling shyt like "Sapphire" "Emerald" "Gold" members. So automatically I remember a thread on the Coli where dudes were talking about pyramid schemes and mentioned "gold" and silver" members.
So presentation ends I'm sort of skeptical but I'm desperate for some money now. I tell dude I need some money so I'll do this shyt part time for the summer.
Dude hands me a sealed folder and a video of some dude who he said started doing this at 18 and retired at 25.![]()
So anyway I set up an "appointment" with the nikka and this bytch at some Panera Bread restaurant at 8 PM on Wednesday. I'm not expecting it to go anywhere tbh but like I said I'm desperate to make money so I'm about willing to give it a shot. If I have to pay for anything though I'm chucking this nikka and my homeboy in the bushes.![]()
at work from laughter. People actually checking to see if I'm alright
Reminds me of when I tried to start my own pyramid scheme..
I printed out 500 flyers advertising a work from home job offer (with the cut off numbers). Said they could make up to 300 to 500 a weak easy. I got a prepaid phone to use as the number. When people called the heard a message about making money "blah, blah, blah". To get started all they had to do is mail a check for $10 and their contact info to a po box for further details.
When they mail the check I would mail them back a letter with the follow instructions.
Make about 200 flyers a weeks and post them shyts in as many locations as you can advertising a work from home offer. I told them emphasize how much one could make working part time. I told them to buy prepaid phone and leave a message instructing them to mail 10 bucks to your address "preferable a po box". If someone sends in the money, I would tell them to write them back with instructions on what I just told them to do
In one summer I made about $5000. I was only 19 so that was a lot of money to me. I figured it was illegal so eventually I got scared and stopped.

Cuz I've been cryin literallyThis shyt git meat work from laughter. People actually checking to see if I'm alright

...video lookin like these Amway nikkas found the secret to jubilation lmao...then the one kid walked out and the host nikka put him down immediately..."he's a fukkin idiot" lmao
"Triple OG, Quadruple OG"...."d block tattoos"...New York is hilarious lmaoMan these meetings are corny, the fake optimism, the dumb nikkas in the room mesmerized by the glamour, the gullibleness, shyt is almost cult like.
You got nikkas walking around talking bout I'm Titanium OG Quadruple OG
I told him only a small amount of people successfully cake off this shyt and a lot of these nikkas is fronting hardbody, some nikka claim he was making 700K a year and the was wearing some busted Cherry 12's, nikka had a D-Block tattoo on his arm too.
I even texted my homie this blog post with FACTS, http://ethanvanderbuilt.com/2013/12/02/worldventures-scam-yes-opinion/
Yet he's so brainwashed
After the meeting the nikka that put my homie on was like "are you on board" and I said I don't know breh
, I'll think about it
He was like "what is there to think about, you have any questions man"
I was trying to be nice or whatever and told him I go to school and it conflicts with my schedule, I'm not gonna be in the city and dude is talking about how I could do this from wherever, how I could take free vacations, how I don't need a degree for this and I could cake to the point I could drop out. At that point dude was talking bullshyt about how Mark Zuckerberg didn't need college, how I shouldn't put myself in any debt in school, how I could achieve residual income and financial independence.
At this point I'm a little annoyed, I got right to it "bro this is clearly multi-level marketing, this is clearly a pyramid scheme
"
His rebuttal was everything in life has a hierarchy, a pyramid structure, and he starts blabbing about how in a school you have principals, assistant principals, teachers, guidance counselors, parent coordinatiors, and school aides. How in McDonald's the fry cook will never make as much as the manager. How you get back as much as you put in. Just a bunch of bullshyt. He's start showing me how he's been on vacation, how his girl who put him on got a Benz from the company.
At that point I'm trying to get the fukk out and I tell him "word a Benz for free, I'll definitely think about it I'll get back to my boy no doubt
"
As soon as we get outside I'm telling this nikka how it's a scam he wouldn't budge and I told him if I see you in one of them free BMW's in a few months I'll join you a grown ass man I'm not gonna try to change your mind too much, live and learn.
I don't understand nikkas are so lazy, so into material possessions, don't wanna work if I'm going to make money it's doing something I enjoy and something I'm passionate about not some bullshyt get rich quick shyt.![]()

Aight so I'm home now.
So we scheduled to meet up at Panera Bread at 8 PM so when I get there first thing I see is one of my friends from one of my classes last semester. Apparently he got invited from the same friend that invited me.
Anyway so my friend leaves and it's just me and the dude and his wife. We get to talking and he starts asking me a bunch of personal information where am I from how old am I blah blah blah. He says I'll earn about 2,000-3,000 bucks a month doing this and then he asks me what I plan to do with the money. I say I plan to save it and he gets this weird ass look on his face and I'm like OK I plan to take a couple hundred out to buy clothes with it.
So we're talking some more and I'm asking dude how am I supposed to get paid for this. He tells me some shyt about me running my own businessDude then starts drawing a diagram where he's at the top and we have a bunch of lines connecting other people which basically looks like a pyramid.
He starts saying I'm gonna need to sell these Amway products like Artistry Makeup, XS Energy Drink and some Nutrilite shyt. I ask him if I have to pay for these products and he tells me he and his wife will pay for them and I sell them and the return the revenue.
So I'm skeptical as to how I'm going to sell these products to and dude tells me my family and friends. He asks me how many contacts I have in my phone and I tell him and then he says he wants me to sell the products to these people, for example if I'm playing ball with one of my homeboys and he gets thirsty I'll sell him an energy drink. So I tell dude my friends ain't gonna buy this shyt and his wife jumps in. She asks me if I've asked them, I say no.
She says so how are you supposed to know if you don't ask them.
I said cause they're my friends and I know them. Plus I wouldn't buy that shyt myself.
So at this point I see the chick is starting to get frustrated with me and is catching an attitude. So I let it be known that I think this is a scam and I'm skeptical about this.
Dude tells me he's not trying to scam me because he and his wife plan to guide me through this process and teach me and tells me if we were trying to scam you we wouldn't drive all the way out from Long Island to Fulton Street in Brooklyn to come meet with you.
I tell him but if you were trying to scam me you wouldn't come out and say it though.
So he asks me why I'm skeptical I say I've been doing research and people close to me (the-Coli) have been saying it's not really a trustworthy place.![]()
When I went to the meeting on Monday he gave me a CD where he told me some dude started this at 18 and retired at 25. I say I don't believe that at all.
His wife comes in and says you think it's too good to be true and I say yeah.
Dude comes and tells me some shyt about how that guy had work ethic and what you put in is what you get out.
At this point I'm like
so I tell them look I need to go over this and do some more research so I'll text you guys later and dude is like I'll text you first.

This shyt is hilarious ya'll. I'm gonna have to call my friend I saw at Panera and tell him not to go through with this shyt.![]()
you a real fukking dummy
u know exactly what it is and still participating![]()

Didn't you just make a thread about taking some real estate job off Craigslist?
They don't have any restaurants where you live? Just get an easy job as a cashier and stop this madness.

This isn't a pyramid scheme.. you sold information (I'm assuming you actually sent them something right ?)
You could have gone a step further and sold more expensive "training" and consulting packages from that list
I did this 8 years ago .... buying traffic online to build a list and sold ebooks on how to buy traffic/ build a list/ rank on google
Each book was $47-77 at that time... then I sold further courses and a 1-on-1 consultation and software
It was a license to print money :leonadis: but a few of my associates started going rogue and not refunding people
So I got out
