Adult R&B Billboard Chart right now... which one of these hit the top 40? Maybe Janet Jackson will cross over because she is a well known pop artist... Anyone else?

The highest ranked country song is number 28 it has been out for over a year... and it has scratching... DJ scratching on it... they actually scratch on it before he starts singing... and its considered his 'lightest' single yet...

now... i aint mad at it... just saying if you got one song in the top 40s, features straight dj scratches, first line of lyrics are 'you're on your couch blowing up my phone','take the boom box out' has a a nearly 1 minute segment with a drum break and him singing over dj scratches, the video features prominently a black dude playing funk guitar rhythm sections... and is facing negative light in the country music genre for being purposefully designed to cross over... well then goes to show there is a specific sound to pop... cause that is a pop record not a country record

this is the other song from the country charts in the top 40... dude is literally singing country style over a throwback motown loop... with a boombox... dapping up a black dude with his hat to the back... dude literally is ghost riding the whip.... he is ghost riding a cherry 70s american car...

too quote from an interview... 'In addition to his current influences of Bruno Mars, Justin Timberlake, Aloe Blacc and Ed Sheeran, Thomas Rhett says he dug back through his favorite tunes from the ’50s, ’60s and ’70s to help drive the sound of the new single.'

I like this joint tooo.... lol

tell me this aint a pop song....

@scuba :salute: you're doing the Lord's work (even though there is no God)

Most of these cats dikkriding pop are so woefully uninformed about the genre.

Look up the history. Pop started out as "a collection of the most popular songs regardless of genre" and turned into a whole genre by itself. A genre that mishmashes and waters down other popular, polarizing genres.
