man, why did you have to summon Mephistopheles into this thread
Yup. They're called blipsters. Go to the Afro punk festival, they are all over.
I was there last year. Good times...good times.
You'll find a bevy of beautiful black queens with colorful dreads, exquisite dresses, and boyfriends that look like Russell Brand.[/QUOTE]

Same.
I'm not from New York originally. I was born and raised in Pittsburgh. I admit to being a transplant and just living here.
Some of them swear up and down that they are born and raised in NYC. They'll try to claim Manhattan or Long Island...or they'll sa their from "The Schwick" or "The Stuy"...
Then when someone asks them what school they went to, or about what corner store used to be around the corner, or questions that only a born and bred New Yorker would know...they get flustered and admit the truth. I think alot of it is self-hate...
That's why I gottawhen I hear about them writing for publications like the New
YupYork Times literally trying to re-write the history of the city.
New Yorkers (REAL New Yorkers) will pull your cards in a second and ain't having it...

Born and raised in Fort Greene, Brooklyn...they can annoy sometimes but so can the goons. I'm old enough to remember to hide in the kitchen to the right of the entrance during shootouts because it was only place in my apartment bullets couldn't hit me if they flew through the door or window. Murder Ave in the 80s/90s was no joke so I appreciate the bike shops and bakeries.
It's funny to see the park turn into a dogshow but it doesn't anger me, I enjoy making fun of them but that's where it stops.
