Man forget all that, it's 2019. We tryna move on up like the Jeffersons. I ain't tryna be content with the same routine and then finally enjoy life at 60:scusthov: And the summer coming too

then be unemployed then if you have the stomach to handle it. You can always move on down to the gutter.

To me I feel like the grind (corp life) is a test to see if you really want it on your own. some get comfortable with the "benefits" and belief that job/career will never come to an end.

Not me though, I've given myself a time window to put up or shut up. escape or stay put.

My advice, hustle the grind to Invest, invest, invest people. I love what i do, i just hate that someone besides me can cancel me at anytime they want. take that power back little by little every pay check.

I stepped away from a job for a year. Did freelance got back in school started working on my music again. I felt much better mentally and spiritually trying to figure out where my next was gonna come from and sometimes barely making it vs waking up everyday, going and clocking in being around folks I don’t wanna be around and don’t fukk with just to have a guaranteed check. Dead time on the job is the worst as well because I could be putting work in for MY life rather than standing around doing nothing.

Maybe less than 1% of the population actually have a job that they love to do
Love yes....but like goes a long way. A professor once told me that you love what you do when you can't wait to get there and you're sad when the work day is over.

She said she loves her job and can't wait to get to work and when it's time to go home she dreads it. Ever since she told me that my mindset was to get to that place. Think about it, you'll spend 1/3 of your day at work....you'll spend maybe an hour commuting there and back...why spend all that time doing something you hate?

But we supposed to be happy because we have a job we making 10-15 an hour which ain’t shyt. it’s really a crazy world and we gotta take the risk if we want the rewards.
Yep. In my opinion even if you're paid double that it's not worth it if you hate waking up and going to work. How much money can someone pay you to enjoy doing something you would hate doing for $30 an hour? If you really love it you would do it for free and if you hate it no amount of money will make you love it.

To be honest if you’re not working to invest in yourself you lost
This is the real message to take away right here. Your job should be a personal gateway to improvement. You are alreading gaining experience in whatever line of work it is you're doing. fukk this checking out nonsense some of you are pushing. Use the crappy system to make your life better.

For real. I remember in 2012 when I had an epiphany.

I was with my ex and we were walking through town. We went to the bakery to get some pastries. The woman behind the counter was in her 60s. Fairly innocuous. When she served us though, I could just see the misery in her eyes. And then it hit me like a ton of bricks.

I don’t know that woman or her backstory, but I know for a fact she never thought as a child that would be her life: serving pastries in her old age. I’m sure like any other child she had dreams and ambitions. But someone has to serve food. Someone has to be the security guard. Someone has to clean hotels. Someone has to work at the checkout. The question is.. is this going to be your life or simply a transition to something greater?

And to think, everyone that’s breathing air right now has won the lottery. The fact we’re alive right now means we were the strongest during conception. The fact that we’re here means something. We all can’t be “amazing” at something but we shouldn’t feel like we’re wasting our lives.

That’s what made me realize I was coasting through life. I had allow society to put my dreams on the back burner. I didn’t want to end up miserable like that woman in the bakery. We only have one life and God damn it, mine isn’t going to be mediocre. I’m going to be somebody in life and leave my mark.

Which means I’m going to take chances and fail and fail again until I know I gave it my best chance. I’ll never settle for being average since that moment. Too many of us are content with being average. Never me. At all.

This right here too. Saving up "fukk you money" is vital from the start and one of the primary things to work on.

When you have enough money saved to maintain your lifestyle for a year it's very relieving. That means no matter what happens at your job and your employment status, you have a year of cushion. Saving a little extra too though to accommodate for travel in case you want to relocate and do your search elsewhere is also beneficial.

Even if you love what you do for a living, save that money.

Cut out other distractions in your life and find productivity where you can :manny:

If you "hate" the 9-5 life, then you should also hate:
The Coli :whoa:
IG/FB/Snapchat/Twitter
Games on your phone
Sports
hanging with friends
video games
any other non productive activity that you spend your time on

If you cut out all of the above, you'd have a ton of free time and free energy to focus on what you needed to, in order to get out of the 9-5. All that I mentioned are things that keep you complacent. "It's not so bad to work, at least I can browse on the coli" or "thank God I'm off work, now time to fire up this Madden" etc.

Find a passion or a business idea, and work that shyt into the ground with all of your free time, and soon you'll be out of the 9-5 grind
:wow:

Quoting for emphasis. There are ways out of the 9-5 life, but it takes focus and a LOT of hard work up front. You have to really be self-motivated as an entrepreneur b/c it takes a different mindset to learn and grind without a boss cracking the whip.
